THE KITTEN’S FAVORITE CUDDLE SPOT IS ON THE PARKA™
Len accepts his fate, just gets a new one, only to find that littlE FURRY SHIT LYING ON THAT ONE
BUT IT LOOKS SO FUCKING COMFORTABLE
DAMN IT BARRY
No Powers AU
Barry Allen is a CSI with CCPD, but when the love of his life, Iris, who just also happens to be his foster sister gets engaged to his foster father, Joe’s partner, Eddie, he decides it’s high time he strike out on his own too. He’s happy for them, he really is, because he just wants Iris to be happy, but the whole thing is hard enough without the pitying looks, especially from Joe. It doesn’t take long for Barry to decide it’s better for everyone that he goes. He applies to departments that are far enough away he doesn’t have to be constantly reminded of his heart ache, but close enough he can make it home in case of emergency.
Almost immediately he receives a reply, but the problem is there’s nowhere for him to stay at the moment. The Chief insists he start as soon as possible though and tells him about a motel he can stay at till arrangements can be made. While Barry is a little apprehensive, when Iris and Eddie enter the precinct holding hands and giggling blissfully he readily agrees.
Within the first week Barry realizes just how much he took home cooked meals and a readily available washer and dryer for granted. Still, his new co-worker, Caitlin, though she’s a bit stiff is really nice, and her fiancée, Ronnie, who is a fireman is someone he’s immediately taken to. The guy that owns the tech shop, Cisco, is awesome too. It’s already becoming slightly easier to quiet his heart ache.
When Caitlin insists Barry join her and Ronnie for drinks after work one Friday he accepts and invites Cisco along too. Everyone hits it off and Barry’s almost even content. The only problem is living at a motel isn’t exactly something he wants to do forever.
ENTER LEN.
Len is an international thief who’s purchased a bar (or bakery, cause we all love Baker!Len) somewhere in middle America where no one would think to look for him while the heat from his most recent heist dies down. He finds himself surprised at how much he’s enjoying his temporary life, especially when an oddly sexy young CSI moves to town. He’s way too young for Len, and Len won’t be here forever, but he’s definitely not above admiring him.
After a months of living at the motel Barry can’t help but complain a little and while Cisco would totally offer him a place to crash, his flat above his shop is barely enough for him. Suddenly Barry finds fresh beers being plopped down in front of him as he made a very surprising offer.
Len offers Barry a room. He knows how crappy it can be living out of a suit case and it’s not like the house isn’t big enough. He has 4 bedrooms all to himself, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a CSI as a roomie just in case. He’ll just have to keep him away from the barn. The house is kind of creepy too, but he’s not gonna tell the kid all that. Both Barry and Cisco stare incredulously at him for a moment before the older man smirks and lets Barry know the offer stands if he wants it, before walking away.
Cisco says no, because he’s heard so many things about Leonard Snart, and “Bro bad idea,” but that night after Barry goes back to his awful motel room all’s he can think about is that cocky smirk and those ice blue eyes. He barely sleeps too, because it’s so freaking hot and the air conditioning is broken. For days he can’t stop thinking about the handsome bar owner or his offer. When the sprinkler system in the motel goes off in the middle of the night soaking him, which it wasn’t as though he was already getting little to no sleep he makes his decision.
It’s awkward when he goes to the bar to ask Len if the offer still stands, but is more excited than he probably should be when he’s told it does. So he moves in with Len. Obv it’s gotta be a bit awkward and the noises the house makes are unsettling, but Barry is not going back to that stupid motel or CC no matter how often Len scowls at him, or how convinced he is that the house is haunted. ColdFlash ensues as well as shenanigans. Barry has Len almost convinced the house is haunted too…
ENTER ROGUES
Lisa and Mick are the first to arrive just after ColdFlash becomes a tentative thing. Len automatically pushes Barry away because he’s reminded who he really is and why it won’t work. Barry’s even more hurt in these last few months he forgot about his heart ache and could actually talk to Iris about her wedding and what not without feeling like his heart was being ripped out, but now all the sudden Len turns in to Captain Cold, which is what his new Pyro friend and baby sister call him. Angst and fighting ensues. Barry and Len are both heart broken, then more Rogues show up, and Len contemplates kicking Barry out because it’s getting to be too much. The deal was for until he found a place of his own. Hartley, one of his tech guys who’s always had a thing for him is only making it all worse.
Barry eventually decides to move out. No one is mean to him aside from Hartley and Len. They’ve sort of adopted him as a baby brother of sorts; “Their little badge”. He’s not stupid, he knows they’re not completely on the up and up, but Len was good to him and they’re not all evil, so it’s an amicable split of sorts.
ENTER DANGER
Then they live happily ever after. The end.
“It’s a mistake to under estimate him”
— Captain Cold showing off his boyfriend
A meta!Len is a cop. Maybe a Captain. And the first time he met the Flash was when there was a robbery in Central City Bank. The bad guy was tied up and the Flash was standing over them. “Freeze!” Len shouted. The flash turned to look at him and tried to run away, but Len iced his feet. “I said ‘freeze’.”
Coldflash, #38
(“You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”)
Continuar lendo
so in cold mercy, how do you think the conversation went when Len told Mick they were gonna have sex with Barry?
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA OMG. I’ve legit never thought about it, exactly.
Umm….
Continuar lendo
Coldflash reincarnation au where Len and Barry aren’t soulmates or anything but they keep bumping into each other anyway
like, one of them’s the greeter at Walmart and suddenly what the fUCK I THOUGHT I LEFT YOU AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ATLANTIC FFS
So I did a thing!!! In order to celebrate the official canon captain cold action figures - I got my own!! And I made them smooch….
I hope you like prompts. I have had this cold flash prompt in my head for ages. Len and Barry are dating, much to the chagrin of Barry's friends and family, especially Joe. The Rogues actually like Barry and they may or may not know he's the Flash. Thinking it's in Barry's best interest, Joe enlists the others to help him find a way to break ColdFlash up, and it almost works too until something happens that shows how much Len and Barry love each other. Cue the guilt all around and angry Barry.
DO I? ;-)
What if the Rogues band together to keep ColdFlash going, because they realize keeping Barry (and eventually The Flash) safe, and just playing the game nicely the way Snart does, is a win-win for everyone?
“What are you talking about, we LOVE Barry, and The Flash, why would we ever try to hurt him? And if someone else tries, they have all of the Rogues to contend with.”
Iris would be on Barry and Len’s side, so Joe would turn to Cisco and Caitlin, convince them of all the reasons this is going to be bad for Barry in the end, and maybe set up several things to put a rift between them.
Anonymous tip to Singh about the relationship. Only Singh calls Barry into his office…
“Are you kidding me, Allen? You think I haven’t figured out you’re The Flash by now? Or that the banter between you and Snart is a little too familiar? I’ve seen some of the videos people post catching you foiling his heists. I’ve also noticed the kinder, friendlier way Snart and his Rogues have been treating this city. You keep being The Flash and keeping our city safer, I don’t care who you sleep with as Barry Allen.”
Setup during a patrol to make Barry a little more vulnerable to an attack from Weather Wizard (because I want a kinder, secretly gentler Mark, okay), forcing Len’s hand to either intervene or let Barry get hurt. But Mardon doesn’t take the shot. He purposely avoids it because he doesn’t want to hurt Barry either.
“Better up your game, Flash. Gettin’ sloppy.” And just flies off.
Time after time, no one reacts the way Joe and Team Flash expects. And then they’re found out - Iris is livid, tells Barry the reason things have been tense between him and Len is because of all these crazy events orchestrated by their supposed friends and family. Barry can’t believe it.
He tells Len, rants to him, and Len thinks…if your friends and family hate the thought of you being with me so much, maybe you’d be better off without me. He walks away and Barry is devastated. Joe thinks it’s a win, that in time, Barry will realize they were right.
“Just wait until the next time you face off against Cold as The Flash. Then you’ll see what kind of person he really is.”
But it never happens. Cold never shows, never commits any crimes. The Rogues don’t either. Everything comes to a standstill in Central, because everyone–everyone–is focused on figuring out how to get these two idiots back together.
And finally, even Joe, Cisco, and Caitlin are recruited to help as well, because they realize, wow, these two really do love each other, and everything Joe ever feared would pull them apart or prove that them being together would be disastrous isn’t what ruined their relationship - he did.
Joe talks to Len. Lisa talks to Barry. They get them both to the same location at the same time, with everyone pitching in to make sure neither one backs out, and when they see each other…everyone is there to show their support for them - Central City’s power couple, Flash and Captain Cold.
They kiss and make up in front of almost everyone they know, and after that everything goes back to normal, where Central is the city where villains can have fun as long as no one gets hurt, and local businesses don’t mind as much if they get hit…because they often find themselves compensated later by anonymous donors.
“I Checked.”
Okay but college Barry having a thing for guys with leather jackets and motorcycles.
Len being confused as to why this scrawny kid keeps showing up at a dive bar he has no business being in. How does he keep getting in he’s gotta be fifteen at the oldest?
Just Len getting over protective of Barry and Barry having a crush on Len.
ColdFlash Matchmaker Joe
I need a fic where Joe is the ColdFlash matchmaker, because it is so unlikely, and I’ve never seen it.
Maybe while working with Legends, Len comes back to 2016 at some point to save Joe from some awful tragedy, because he can’t bear the thought of Barry losing another parent, only it gets both of them trapped somewhere no one knows to look for them, and they don’t have any way to contact anyone.
Thinking they’re both going to die now, Len tells Joe the truth, that he’s from the future, that the wedding band on his finger? That’s from Barry. They’re together and so happy and everything Barry ever tried to convince him of, that he could be a better man, that he had good in him, damn it, the kid was right. At least Len tries to live up to that everyday, which was why he had to come back and try to save Joe.
And Joe is skeptical at first. He believes the time travel, that Len clearly loves Barry, but that they’re meant to be together, that they could be as happy as Len makes it sound they are? No way. Only as the hours together stretch on, and they’re still trapped, Joe starts to get it. This is a different Snart now, one whose life has been touched by Barry in such a profound way, he really did change, or realize that he was a better man all along.
Of course they don’t die. Rip and the others find them, get them out, chastise Len for going off on his own, and then tell Joe he has to keep this to himself. Can’t share anything about the future with anyone, especially present day Len and Barry.
Joe thanks Len for saving him, thanks all of them, and promises to uphold that, and he does, except…now he has a mission to make sure Len and Barry find happiness together.
Ok so like… It’s canon in the flash that there is a coffee drink named after him, a “brewed coffee with an extra shot of espresso” It is also canon that there are action figures of both The Flash, and Captain Cold. So if Captain Cold is popular enough as The Flash’s nemesis to warrant having his own action figure; It wouldn’t be beyond reason to say there is a chance he could have his own coffee drink as well. Probably something really on the nose to, like an iced vanilla mocha or something
Just…had to put that out there…
