Casino (starring Robert DeNiro, Sharon Stone & Joe Pesci)

A ‘95 crime drama directed by Martin Sorcese. The story is written by Nicholas Pileggi. I’m a big fan of Robert DeNiro & Joe Pesci. Matter of fact, how wouldn’t I? After seeing their wonderful performances in the 1990 mafia flick “Goodfellas” I decided to give it a shot.  “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas!” is one of the first things a tourist gets to see, when he enters the gambling paradise. But there is another face that don’t gets as much visibility as the sign. The world of brutal corruption and mobsters hides within.

The movie shows us the mob involvement in the 70’s and 80’s Las Vegas. Ace Rothstein (DeNiro) came to Las Vegas to make a living. Now he runs the Tangiers Casino. But when his boyhood friend, Nicky Santoro (Pesci), now a Made-Man of the mafia, arrives in town, he has his own plans to work out one and another, that will disrupt Ace’s life. When Ace falls in love with a hustler, Ginger (Stone), things start to get worse.
