Before I went on my 3 week vacation, I was so irritable and stressed from all the work I was juggling and other feelings around some conflicts with coworkers. My supervisor sent me a message asking to email her 5 accomplishments I was proud of from the last year. I knew she was up to something (bc she asked me to email it) so I followed up with a questioning of who she was gonna share it with, and she said her supervisor. I thought, since our unit has a microscope on us, that it was related to the extra hoops she’s been having to jump through — so I sent the list and called it a day.

Yesterday she pulled me aside to inform me she actually was advocating for me to receive a bonus and that it was approved. Even though they only gave me 20% of what she was trying to get me awarded, I feel extremely grateful to have a supervisor that looks out and affirms when I’m doing good work. She said that she could only nominate one person on staff and she chose me. Thankful for it fr.
