Had a great day hiking around Urupukapuka Island. Lovely sunny hot weather. I used my phone for a few pics but it must have stayed on in my pocket, so it took lots of lovely blurry inside pocket shots and then the battery ran out. Before that all happened, however, I did get a shot of this gorgeous cobweb. But now, back home, feet are sore and we tired old people are going to bed early👌 (at Urupukapuka Island)

Shining Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx lucidus) migrates to New Zealand in Sept and departs late February, to spend winter on the western edge of the Pacific. It is cryptically coloured with incandescent green plumage and is usually heard rather than seen. It lays it’s eggs in the nest of the tiny Grey Warbler, who incubates them and rears the chicks. 🌼
