Hi, I'm MysteryCorgi! You can call me Morgi for short.
About this blog
This is where I'll be trying to focus my gamedev/visual novel posts for the most part.
About me
Early 30s | Nonbinary, Disgaybled, Neurospicy | she/they sidhe/fae
I am passionate about visual novels and about video games and other interactive media as a conduit for telling stories. I also believe strongly in representation and accessibility in video games and media, as well as supporting other creators.
When it comes to creating video games and visual novels I have dabbled with several roles to gain familiarity with the tasks performed by various team roles. I have experimented with music, graphics, UI, script writing, crowdfunding, marketing, and illustration, but I believe my strengths are in narrative planning, social media, and project direction.
More under the cut!
Due to chronic health problems I have been unable to hold steady employment since 2013 and turned to game development as a way for me to make a living from home.
After considerable burnout and almost dying in 2018 I resigned from work on games, but have recently started working on games again as of 2026.
Games I've contributed to:
That Cheap and Sacred Thing
La Cage
Frequencies
The Wayward Hospital
XD83C8
Like She Had Wings
Inverness Nights
Tell a Demon
Culina: Hands in the Kitchen
Sick Dreams
A More Beautiful World
Forgotten, Not Lost
You, With Me
When Our Journey Ends
Merchant Memoirs
On Earth as it is in Heaven
AIdol: Artificial Intelligence Idol
Your Royal Gayness
Colette & Becca
ZenEl
Dental Emergency Simulator: U.S. Precariat Edition
To not only maintain independence and stability through my craft but to take the opportunity learn and grow with each day
To create enjoyable experiences everyone can enjoy through accessibility and representation
To support fellow LGBT+ and disabled community members
My Future Dreams:
I believe strongly in the concept of 'paying it forward' and want to support others in the way I have been supported. While supporting others financially may not be viable, I am more than happy to help people find resources and give them any knowledge I have learned over time.
I am interested in helping independent developers who face difficulties in producing or distributing their projects digitally for any variety of reasons. I am also hoping to start working on physical merchandise production for small game studios and independent artists who would otherwise struggle to sell their wares online.
Having worked as a volunteer at a variety of animal shelters, as well as having rescued numerous animals on my own, I hope to someday help animals in need. I think the route of advocacy and education are the path to attaining this goal and spreading awareness.
Want to work with me?
Please reach out! I'm always happy to work with or help projects whenever I'm available.
Important:
Please note that my contracts include Anti-NFT, anti-Blockchain, and anti-"AI" (Generative Machine Learning such as GPT and other Large Language Models) clauses. I refuse to be associated with projects that rely on the aforementioned technology.
To learn more, you can read the Freelance TOS and general TOS pages on my personal site. If you want to learn more about the reasoning behind this position, you can read about that on my disclaimer page.
From a business perspective I find the legal, operational, and reputational risks far outweigh any perceived benefits. From a personal standpoint I find the hype surrounding these technologies to be overblown, the results to be underwhelming, and the ethical failings of the companies behind this technology repugnant. Adding to my distaste: the great toll these technologies have on the environment the blatant disrespect these companies show towards creators
You are a young witch who has just reached an important stage in their magical journey. Finding a demonic partner.
To do this, like any other witch, you must journey to Gothal, the kingdom of demons and pick out your ideal partner. Of course, there's always time to indulge in the local culture while you're there, which thrives on lust and carnal pleasures.
What you don't expect is to also be roped into the royal family's drama. Or to be tasked with solving the case of a greedy demon leaving soulless witches in its wake.
The Price of Lust is an upcoming NSFW game aimed at female and queer audiences about witches, demons, angels and embracing your own desires.
18+ AUDIENCES ONLY, MINORS HAVE NO PLACE HERE
Point and click mechanics
Customizable pronouns and genitalia for the MC
Choices allowing different personalities
5+ romance options
Several illustrated NSFW scenes
Several submissive male love interests, 2 dominant female love interests
This project is primarily an erotic game. There will be no options for skipping or avoiding such content in the game.

hii! this is my alt so its gonna be anonymous BUT I LOVE UR VN SO MUCH I LOVE THE CHARACTER DESIGNS AND I LOVE IT OVERALL ITS SO GOOD MIGHT BE ONE OF MY FAVS :PP ALSO!! do u have any tips on how to make a vn ?
My tips on making a visual novel ☆
Disclaimer: I have a specific preference on making my VNs, and I always try to make them solid and almost movie-like. I'm not a professional, so please take this as personal advice only :)
-
1. Make an initial visual moodboard. It's definitely adjustable later, and you can see how your vision becomes more cohesive as you develop the story.
2. OUTLINES ARE CRUCIAL!! 😭 Don't be too stuck on it that you won't write anything at all, but don't dive in too deep with no outline. A big part of my script-writing is outlining and deciding how things would go, in bullet points or mind maps.
3. Use the 5W + 1H to help build many things. Plot, analysis of existing VNs, characters, etc.
4. Recognize your preferences. What do you like, and what do you dislike in existing VNs? What do you want to convey? Etc.
5. If you use Google Docs, turn off smart quotes before you type your script, so it's easier to transfer to Visual Studio Code.
6. If you just started, I suggest making a very short VN first, purely to test the technicalities of the art, writing, and coding, since they really overlap. There is a lot you can learn from making a short, several-hundred word game!
7. If you can, try to customize the UI. It can be really simple, but really effective.
8. Pay attention to music and ambience. I personally think it's an often overlooked aspect that makes or breaks a scene.
9. Make it exist first. You can make it good later :)

Hidden deep within the mountains of Kurama lives Shanao, the youngest surviving male heir to the Genji name. However, Shanao harbors a deep secret known to very few...
The youngest heir to the Genji name is no man.

After our heroine carved out a new fate,
these sweet epilogues tell the story of what happened after the events of the first game."
This is the fandisc to the original Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei! You can buy the physical version here, or the digital version here.
In case you missed the news, Burn the Midnight Oil's Kickstarter was funded! 💖
We've raised $113,075 USD (or €96,596 EUR) and counting thanks to our backers. If you missed out on the campaign but really want to nab some merchandise or one of our other cool rewards like beta access, late pledges will remain open for the next few weeks!
Every extra penny made goes towards our stretch goals.
For the rest of this month, our socials might be a little quieter. We've already jumped straight back into working on the full game, but we're going to need a min to gather our bearings. Just know that we're working hard on our first demo update, which will add over 15k+ words and more art to the current demo!

Finally, it’s done. Liar Liar, a game that I worked for five days on, is finally complete! The goal of the game is to aid Yukari, the heroine of this game to murder her boyfriend and get rid of anyone in your way!
Shallow plot, characters, and background characters galore, for a simple test just to understand how flags and if statements worked has exploded into something else. The game play should probably take roughly less than 15 minutes. There are three ways you can die, and there is only one true end.
Possible trigger warnings: Blood (obviously), Violence and Gore (Eye Trauma and stabbings specifically), and eye strain (it’s really freaking bright), also there are some parts where the screen shakes

*if there are any problems playing the game please feel free to let me know…. this is my first game haha
Giveaway: Enter to Win the ‘Life Is Strange’ Season Pass
We recently broke 2,000 followers on Tumblr, 1,600 on Twitter, and 100 subscribers on YouTube. Not too shabby for a new gaming space, eh? To celebrate welcoming so many new friends to our humble little abode over here, we’d like to offer you the opportunity to join us in our constant trash-worthy squeeing (hence, the image above). This is your chance to win the Life Is Strange season pass! If you haven’t played the game yet and want to know what we’ve raving about all the time, here’s your chance—and it’s totally free to enter. Hella cool, right? ✌
Now is the perfect time for you (or someone you know!) to be introduced to all the shit going down in Arcadia Bay. Dontnod Entertainment has been consistently delivering incredible gameplay that we just can’t get enough of. Whether we’re identifying with certain characters, celebrating queer representation, or even taking the time out to critically analyze a few missteps, Life Is Strange has been keeping us up at night since it dropped.
As the latest and, sadly, last installment in this particular series is allegedly slated for sometime in September, you still have time to catch up before then! Keep moving after the jump for our giveaway guidelines if you want to win five episodes of a hipster game.
Important news for VN developers and fans who are attending AnimeFest in Dallas, TX.
Devs:
Previously, I posted that AnimeFest had indicated that they want to help promote visual novels and developers at their convention this year. One of their events is a “visual novel showcase” panel where devs will get a chance to show off recently released or upcoming games. Any devs with a trailer for a VN they want to promote are welcome to join. Note this is an all-ages panel, so no 18+ games. Devs who will be attending AnimeFest will receive priority, as it would be way cooler if you could present your VN in person. Email me at [email protected] (deadline: August 31).
Players:
For those of you who prefer playing over making, we’ve got a table in Artist’s Alley this year (not the dealer’s room as in previous years), and we’ll be selling VNs and giving away free art cards as usual. Also be sure to stop by our Visual Novel Showcase panel to get a sneak peek at upcoming games, pick up some free swag, and win fun prizes.
Future Devs:
Come to our Making Visual Novels panel! We’ll talk about making visual novels! (Duh.) It’ll be fun.
The past weeks or so, I’ve been working on improving the antagonist’s backstory, their plot, motives, and means. The result is much more simple than what I’ve had before, but also much more relateable for the reader.
In addition, I’ve also added another villain to the story, who will expand upon the setting, and add a moral grayness to the conflict that was not possible with the other villain. I really think readers will like them a lot.
I can’t write too much in this post, since I shouldn’t spoil. But there are multiple villains in Bells, and each of them have their own agendas, which they are trying to fulfill.
Fans of Lovecraft should keep an eye out for hints about this new villain I’ve added to the story.
