I love being a passenger whilst someone else is driving. I am free to people-watch. People walking their dogs, carrying shopping, hoisting their bag higher, looking both ways to cross the road. People running into the local shop, walking kids home from school, hands in pockets to fight the cold. People with hoods up to hide away, zooming by on bikes, cruising in mobility scooters, limping with a cane.

It’s so humbling to see that, really, we are all the same. The mundane is what brings us together. We are all here, alive, on this earth, simply present and existing.

- goes to bed, thinking i’ll sleep great because i’m 2 and a half weeks overdue a b12 injection

- gets insomnia instead

- starts aching in my left knee, left elbow, lower back, neck and shoulders

- starts inevitably googling symptoms, of which still all indicate the same thing

- spends the night rehearsing an imaginary conversation of what i’d say to a doctor
