A scholarly analysis of the Biblical name of the mysterious âRephaimâ
â
In the movie, Tree of Life, a grieving mother who just lost her child prays to God, âWhy? Who are we to you? Answer Me.â Then, this epic montage glimpsing a taste of âGodâ answers. Got to be my favorite part of any movie.Â
What are humans to God?
Saul was a jew who hunted people that followed the teachings of Jesus.
Jesus claimed to be the messiah foretold in the the writings of the Torah. This claim can only be looked at 2 ways; lies or truth. Saul saw it as lies. After all, most jews believe the messiah will be a great king⌠more righteous than David and more powerful than Elijah.Â
Even after Jesusâ crucifixion, his teachings were still spreading. Saul was on a mission to stop all of it. Saul threw many Jesus-followers in jail and in one famous case, oversaw the stoning of a Jesus-follower named Stephen.
As Saul was traveling with his companions to hunt more christians, he had a mystical encounter. Saul saw and heard the voice of Jesus (Acts 26).After this encounter, Saulâs name is changed to Paul and his mission in life drastically changed.
From 30 AD to 50 AD, Paul founded many Christian churches in Europe and Asia Minor. 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament are often attributed to be Paulâs writings. The book of Acts tells many stories of Paulâs travels and sufferings.Â
Paulâs main message is that Jesusâs life and death serve as sacrifice for all of mankindâs sins. Humans will always sin and will never attain godlike status. Human choices and desires lead to destruction, but God has created a path to life through sending His son Jesus Christ. Paul teaches that all one must do to attain Godâs acceptance is simply believe. He also states that those who have never hear this word, can still attain Godâs acceptance. This is in stark contrast to the laws and sacrifices of the jewish way to Godâs (YHWYâs) acceptance.Â

Hello i left christianity but that made me miserable i want to be a christian and happy again... just theres so many inaccuracies in the bible :/ what are your thoughts? And i dont believe in hell
I personally donât believe the Bible is the âin-errant word of Godâ. Some people believe that itâs a perfect collection of Godâs voice... but i disagree.
I decided to actually read, well I did book on tape, but I listened to the ENTIRE thing. It was really fasciting. Thereâs so much in there that you donât learn in church.
The Old Testament is a collection of stories from a beautiful culture. There are many stories of the Israelites worshiping other Gods, doing magick, and even sacrificing their own babies to gods. The Bible isnât perfect, but it does also record peopleâs experiences with God.
Iâd just say, to start reaching out to God. I actually like to meditate and then pray to god because it makes me more focused and feels like a spiritual experience.... I honestly think it is a spiritual experience. According to the Bible, Jesus would wake up early in the morning and pray for hours... I think thatâs a form of what we call mediation in our modern culture. Getting in a quiet place, alone is a great way to feel in tune with the spiritual realm.
The Christ Pantocrator is a painting by an unknown artist in one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world. Saint Catherineâs Monastery is located on the famous Mount Sinai in Egypt and was built between 548-565 A.D.
Other early depictions of Jesus include:Â

âYou study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,yet you refuse to come to me to have life.â - John 5:39
Being a follower of Jesus is NOT about believing in the exact creationism described in the Bible or a literal interpretation of Noahâs Ark.
Being a follower of Jesus is NOT about being able to completely comprehend and explain the immeasurable existence of God.
Being a follow of Jesus IS about actually praying, crying out, searching & communicating with The Holy Spirit!Â
He will answer you in a very real way. Most people search for answers in books, but cry out to God Himself and your answer will be through the spirit! He answered me.
Keep praying for the spirit!
Luke 11:9-12, John 15 & 16.
âIt is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.â - Jesus
If youâve never experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit, it is beautiful. Sincerely ask God to experience his presence and He will make it happen.
It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the [Holy Spirit] will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
JesusÂ
You donât have to be in a church to experience the Holy Spirit. He can flood our souls like an all-consuming Fire in the midst of a joyful congregation, but He is also in the quietest rooms where tears rest on pillowcases and with His all-powerful yet delicate voice, He whispers comfort to every beat of the heart.

âI have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligenceâ, he affirmed. âBelieve me, everything that we call chance today wonât make sense anymore.â
âTo me it is clear that we exists in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.â

Ephrem the Syrian was a prolific hymn writer & theologian in the 4th century.
In the mid-90s a global ârefreshingâ hit Christian churches. What was stirring in Argentina and in Rodney Howard-Browneâs meetings exploded in Toronto. Soon after, it flooded into churches all over the world and all across the denominations, including the Catholic Church. See what happened in one charismatic Filipino church.
