there’s something very funny to me about the groups Tumblr decides to embrace. we chase off major celebrities and personalities and show open unmitigated hatred for the people running the place but we welcome the literal Occupational Safety and Health Administration with open arms.

can some of y’all please learn the difference between “reblog” and “repost”? These words are NOT interchangeable, and they mean very different things:

reblog: the built-in feature on tumblr that allows you to share a post on your own blog, which automatically hyperlinks the source to OP.

repost: saving, screenshotting, or copy/pasting an existing post and uploading as a new post to tumblr or another website.

Content creators on tumblr really like when people reblog their posts, so that their art/writing/edits circulate to more people and is still easily traceable to them.

On the flip side, it is considered extremely disrespectful if you save a post and reupload it somewhere else. If you want to repost something, you 100% need to ask for permission first (personally, I would ask for permission anyway even if their bio says reposts are ok). Reposting is extremely harmful to artists, and leads to their art getting stolen, uncredited, and sold without them even knowing.
