idunn's golden apples keep the norse gods young. when she was kidnapped, they started aging and panicking. loki had to rescue her. she's not a damsel - she's the one they literally cannot survive without.

loki is the norse god of chaos and complicated feelings. he's odin's blood brother, a shapeshifter, a dad to monsters, and the reason baldur is dead. he got chained to a rock with snake venom dripping on his face while his wife held a bowl to catch it. when she left to empty it, the venom fell, and loki's pain made the earth shake.

skadi is the norse goddess of winter and hunting. she demanded justice when the gods killed her father. married the sea god njord by accident - picked his feet thinking they were baldur's. mountains vs. sea. couldn't make it work. she went back to the mountains.

freyja is the norse goddess of love, war, and magic. she spent four nights with four dwarves to get a golden necklace. she rides a chariot pulled by cats and wears a falcon-feather cloak that lets her fly. she taught seidr magic to odin, and when she cries, her tears turn to gold.

she's a lot.

freyr doesn't fight. he just... vibes. god of sunshine, rain, and peace. he brings good weather, makes crops grow, and keeps everything abundant.

also he has a sword that fights on its own, a boar that glows in the dark, and a ship that folds into a pocket. the most peaceful god in norse mythology.

thor's wife had the most beautiful golden hair in all of norse mythology. then loki happened.

he cut it off while she slept — and out of that one stupid prank came mjolnir, gungnir, and the most powerful weapons the gods ever had.

sif's hair is the harvest itself. it grows back every year. and so do the crops.
