Hold Me I'm Falling Apart by AnotherDay_AnotherDoug -- One minute he was on Asgard, trying a spell too advanced for his age, and the next thing kid!Loki knows, he's alone and hurt and scared on Midgard. All he wants are his parents and to go home, what he gets is Tony Stark. Last updated a couple of years ago, and left off with nothing resolved, but a really good mix of fluff and angst and a flashback glimpse of Odin -Loki snuggles.

A Small Thing Worn Thin by Barkour -- An ancient map in a forbidden book leads Loki and Thor to the hidden Underway beneath Asgard, but the lure of adventure and lost things nearly leads to tragedy. Pre-canon kid Thor and Loki.

Heartache by @beemotionpicture -- Thor thinks he has a chance to change things when he time travels back to the point where they'd just got back from Jotunheim, but he doesn't belong there anymore. A fix-it beginning that ends in angst.

The Wild Hunt by Bottan (@bottan-blobbington) -- what is supposed to be a quest for glory ends up with Loki being hunted for his life when word of his heritage is leaked to someone with a personal grudge against the Jotnar. Pre-canon adventure, whump, and Thor coming through for his brother when it matters most.

The Golem-Verse by Cephei -- After one too many assassination attempts on young prince Thor's life, a magical creature is commissioned from the dwarfs, one that can be both guard and playmate, appearing as a child Thor's own size to start with but able to grow as he grows, tasked with keeping him safe and being whatever Thor needs him to be. That golem is Loki, and what makes a 'person' real is explored both through Loki's thoughts and the way he is treated by the people around him. (For once, Frigga falls short in her acceptance of him and Odin gets all the gold stars.) Continues into movie canon territory.

Breaking the Habit by CloseToSomethingReal -- Loki dies of a broken neck and wakes up in Valhalla, but reuniting with his parents and getting to know his grandfather Bor and uncles Vili and Ve isn't enough to bring him peace. But with Frigga's help, Odin manages to return Loki's life to him to give him a second chance, with the warning that he will not have enough energy left over to heal Loki's broken neck... A tale of Loki's struggle to survive and find his brother again, and then then face a trial for his crimes on Midgard so that he might find a new home and a place for himself in New Asgard, Long fic, WIP.

Prince of the Swamps by CourtesyTrefflin and Tirana Sorki (@fanfictasia) -- Lokigator AU. Thor, an only child, finds and adopts an injured alligator that he names Loki. 🐊

Hurt Feelings by @cozy-the-overlord -- From a tragic pre-canon opening to what happened when Loki returned from Svartalfheim and confronted Odin, this fic explores the relationship between Loki and both of his parents. Also:

A Worthy Strike -- Upset by not being able to hold his own on the sparring grounds against the older children, Loki plans to show what his magic can do when Thor is allowed to take part in a festival showing off his fighting skills. When a terrorist-set explosion coincides with his setting off his spell, he panics and runs off, thinking he's killed Thor.

Alternate Alignment by DeathScribe -- A series that rewrites the movies with a much younger kid Loki as the second prince of Asgard. Drama, adventure, and fluff, with the third fic in the series now complete. Features include Loki learning of his heritage, getting plenty of love from his family, getting to be a hero and save a dying Frigga's life by finding the antidote to the poison on the Dark Elf blad that stabbed her, and being instrumental in a new alliance between Asgard and the new king of Jotunheim.

A Little Switcheroo by Fernajen -- A magical accident ends up with Odin and young Loki switching bodies.

Illusions by Fireflysummer: "Where is my son's body?!" Whatever Loki had expected when he, in the guise of a guard, told his father of his body being found dead on Svartalfheim, it wasn't the rage and pain in his father's voice, nor, when he snuck back unseen after fleeing, seeing Odin crying for his lost son. Canon compliant version of what might have happened when Loki 'died' on Svartalfheim, and after returning to the palace. Angst that will make your heart hurt.

A Fortunate Family by Goddess_In_Aubergine -- When Odin unintentionally becomes pregnant thanks to his half-Jotun heritage (and a little magical fun in the bedroom), it becomes imperative to stop the mistreatment of the Jotnar on Asgard and make his own family's Jotun heritage public and reconnect with his roots. This gets heavy into gender and racial equality, but has some great family fluff at its center. Loki and Thor are around 11 and 13 in this. WIP, last updated in 2022, but just under 100k so there's a lot of story. You will be left wanting more, but it currently ends with the family in a good place and no cliffhangers.

Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy by @hariboowrites -- Loki and Jane are both gravely injured when trapped in a cave-in. Jane is sure Thor will find them, but will it be in time?

In Leaves No Step Had Trodden Black by Infinite_Monkeys (@aninfinitenumberofmonkeys) -- Loki's first attempt at worldwalking takes him to Jotunheim, where a friendly family takes him in, Loki having unconsciously shapeshifted to his Jotun skin to keep from freezing to death. Scared and lonely and wanting to go home, Loki nevertheless learns that the Jotnar aren't all monsters while Odin seeks for a way to bring Loki home safely.

Ice Child by @irehfish -- Young Loki and Sif sneak into the Vault during a game of hide and seek. But when an encounter with the Casket of Ancient Winters leaves Loki unconscious and covered in ice, it's up to Sif to save him.

Baby by Invisible206 -- The timeline in which baby Loki didn't stop shapeshifting after Odin brought him home to Asgard, not until he settled into his alligator form. Thor rewritten as a Lokigator origin story. 🐊

Burnt sage and a forest of bygones by jynersq -- Post Ragnarok AU where Thor learns from a volva that Loki rests not in Valhalla with their parents but friendless in Hel, and embarks on an epic quest to bring him back to the land of the living. (Also featuring best horsie!Sleipnir, who apparently made it to Valhalla and whom is on loan from Odin for Thor's journey.)

She's Gone by @kittyhazelnut-- Post-Dark World hurt/comfort. Not seeing anything else to live for, Loki returns to the wreckage of his cell after avenging his mother's death, overwhelmed by grief. Turns out he still has one parent who will hold him while he cries.

Every Map Is Blank by @ladyflowdi -- After Loki is returned to Asgard after his time with Thanos, the only way to save his life is to de-age him back to a 9 year old boy. Amidst the grief on both sides of the things that were lost, good things are also found.

Extenuate by Lise (@veliseraptor) -- Trapped in the Odinsleep, Odin can only listen as Loki comes to rant at him post Dark World and hint at what befell him during the year they thought him dead.

PIllars of Salt and Sand by @lizardbeths -- Post TDW angst; while ruling as Odin, Loki grieves in Frigga's room and has a discussion with Thor.

Untitled ficlet by @mykingdomforapen Loki dies on Svartalfheim and is reunited with Frigga

The Lies We Tell by Natalie Rushman -- a series of introspective Odin moments, including the finding and bringing home of Loki and various other moments in his life, all tinged with how a non-canon Hela has been involved in his life.

It Ain't Easy by needleyecandy -- Loki wants to run a new spell by their mother before trying it; Thor wants to spar. When Loki finally gives in to Thor's impatience and attempts the spell on his own, he ends up accidentally cursing Thor. Now frog!Thor needs to find his true love to kiss out back into human shape.

Beneath by ninepen -- The epic Loki and Jane in Antarctica fic that is at 1,818,537 words and still in progress. There's a ton of Asgardian worldbuilding and backstory in addition to what's going on in the present, and every hour of sleep you miss because you can't stop reading this is worth it. Finnesang by @otterskin -- This is an AU set far into the future, where movie canon never happened, where Asgard still stands, where Frigga died of old age, Thor rules as king, and Loki serves as both advisor and caretaker of an aged Odin, who began a decline into dementia ever since the loss of one of his ravens -- Muninn, the keeper of his memories. As Huginn struggles to carry on alone, things began to unravel as long-buried secrets begin to come out. (WIP))

The Golden Apple by PaduaBurke -- Sif helps Loki regain the lost closeness he'd once shared with his father.

Give me a reason by @rileetheriddler -- Loki wakes up in Asgard right before Thor's coronation after dying at Thanos's hands. He's not sure how he got there, but he's determined not to make the same mistakes this time. WIP. Currently at 11 chapters, with the initial arc of Loki's much longer, successful rule as Asgard's regent having wrapped up with Odin finally awakening and Thor still living as a mortal on Midgard.

Viduedae Child by RunRabbitRun -- Frigga's not quite sure about the foundling baby her husband hands to her to raise, but he's such a sweet baby. And by the time he's a child who disappears one day unable to be found by any searchers, she realises in the terror of losing him how wholly he became her son somewhere along the way.

Pyrite by salazarfalcon -- Loki moves to Midgard and goes to therapy.

Silver and Cold by STIXandMANNY -- Post-Avengers. Thor finds Loki in his cell with a dagger in his chest and mysterious runes covering his chest. When Asgard's healers refuse to treat him, Thor must beg for help from the Avengers to save his brother's life -- a brother who now looks like he's only 15 again and can remember nothing past that age.

Light In The Hallway by @theonyxmoon -- Loki's last moments, and Frigga waiting to welcome him home to Valhalla. Angst, but with a bit of comfort.

Tales From Denialand by @writernotwaiting -- Series of short fics set during Loki's rule disguised as Odin. When the stress builds up, he goes and vents to Odin, who is having a nice long Odinsleep in a hidden room. From Loki noticing the lack of any kind of records relating to Odin's early rule to the servants quietly figuring out who Is currently in charge, there are a lot of fresh, interesting ideas explored in this fic.

To Succeed by Xparrot -- Unfooled, Odin dispels the glamour of a guard when Loki returns from Svartalfheim and offers his son a proposal.

The Odinfam -- An Artist's Rendition by @youlackconviction -- A crack look at how the portrait of the Odinfam on the throne room's ceiling might have come to be.

Loki Redemption Fic Number 190083426 by yummy_mingjien -- After using a truth spell on Loki to get him to answer who sent him to Midgard and whether he regretted his actions there, Odin gives Loki a lenient punishment -- his magic is bound till he proves he deserves it back, his life is bound to Thor's -- what hurts or kills one of them will hurt or kill the other -- and he is married to Thor. The brothers find new kinship in thinking their father is crazy, and when Thor is sent to Midgard to retrieve the scepter, Loki tags along as part of his redemption program. Mischief, adventure, and a clever solution to their problems result.
