No. You were beyond pissed.
And you (unlike someone) had a perfectly valid reason to be.
All day your misogynistic asshole of a boss had you running around like a headless chicken, running the most trivial, demeaning of errands. From getting him coffee and lunch (which was not part of your job description) to giving you the kind of time filling, braincell killing busy work that would drive anyone up a wall. He was treating you like a servant and it was utterly humiliating! Even a few of your coworkers had pointed it out.
What’s even worse is that you know damn well exactly why he was treating you like that.
At the last company meeting, you had upstaged him with a new promotional idea. It’d bruised his fragile ego that the higher ups had preferred your pitch over his (please note that when you’d attempted to share your idea with him prior to the meeting he had flat out ignored you). He couldn’t take the fact that one of his employees, a woman no less, had stolen his thunder. And now, he was taking it out on you every chance he got. You’d even had to stay at the office two extra hours to finish all of the paperwork he’d forced down your throat.
At that point you weren’t even tired. You were just plain angry.
But luckily, you had a sure fire way to blow off all of that festering rage before it could explode out of you like a firecracker.
What’s a better way to burn off steam than to push your body past its breaking point?
Which is precisely what you are doing.
