Mapping 2016
Looking towards 2016. Itās time to deconstruct life and live simple.
Itās hard to go through a reevaluation of life. Itās hard to compare where you are and where you thought you would be.
Mash Up
Iām beat up... mentally, physically, spiritually. In every essence, Iām beat up.
DOUBLE UNDERS!... iāll keep practicing though.

Deadlift
The deadlift is an interesting lift. Itās so primal in its movement, yet we struggle so much with the mechanics of it.
With that being said, tonight was the first night in a long time where I focused on deadlifting. I got a little gun shy with the movement for a while. The last time I pulled a āheavyā deadlift was probably the end of last summer. This isnāt to say that I havenāt been deadlifting, but I havenāt gone over 225lbs (102kg) since then, nor have I been deadlifting with any real frequency.
It felt good, I worked up to 385lbs (175kg) for a new PB for one rep (unbelted). However, when I finished my lifting session and was cooling down, I started to think about the simplicity of the movement. I started to wonder why we struggle so much to perform such a natural movement, why so many people fall victim to the movement, why we donāt have the proper motor engram to avoid injury while performing the movement.
I donāt know the answer, but itās a curious question. I donāt really careĀ to know the answer to be honest, but itās something to think about while deadlifting.
