I remember the times

When I could run my hands through your fur

And not feel the details of your bones

Against my fingers

I am fond of the times

When your meows sounded full

When you jumped and you ran

And your purr filled my room

Now time worked its crime

You chirp like you were just born

You struggle to purr

And I resent a future

Where it's you I'll have to mourn

Your eyes, my dear

They still have a spark

When you look into mine

It's like staring at my life

We are intertwined

Soulmates

There are stars in your eyes

There are stars in my heart

There are stars in your chirps

There are stars in my tears

There are stars in your fur

There are stars in my fingers

As they caress your tiny

Oh so tiny body 

You have lived 20 full years with me

You were tiny when I was tiny

Then you've grown as I did

And now I keep getting older

You too but for much less longer

And you stopped growing a few months ago

You look frail and tired

Your fur knots and my finger keep getting stuck in them

I am young and tired 

I would like to take a nap with you one last time

Before you decide your time has arrived

And please don't hide

My love my baby please don't hide when you die

How could I find your tiny body

And kiss you goodbye?

AAAAAUUUUGH, I'M FINALLY DONE WITH THIS !! I CAN FINALLY SHARE IT OMG . I loved getting to color this panel from this beautiful comic here by Carmody !! My background work has definitely improved since relearning gouache brushes, and it shows !! Everything might not look as rendered or as detailed, but everything was so fun to add regardless !!
