Fantasy Meihem- Chapter 7

Her robes and bows and mage frippery were all hanging up on a line across the little room, though she doubted that they’d be fully dry by morning. It had taken her longer than she’d thought to wash all of them, and all the soap and spells she had tried still didn’t get out all the demon blood stains. Mei sat in her nightshirt atop the rough, scratchy bed, a needle and thread in one hand as she made a valiant attempt at patching up some of the rips in one of her skirts.

Jamison was humming to himself inside her head, seemingly in good spirits despite how much he’d complained about having to leave the water. She’d dragged him into the water while it was freezing, and then she’d ordered him out of the warm bath so he’d be freezing again. He’d let her hear about it, for sure. But somehow his humming didn’t annoy her like it usually did. She felt pretty good, actually. Maybe she really had needed to…er…relax?

She was still having trouble with that part, though. First she’d kissed him, and now she’d let him put his hands on her, and she was almost ashamed at how much she had enjoyed both. She’d been so strong against his lecherous advances at first, and in just a few days it had completely unraveled. Someone like her wasn’t supposed to be friendly with a demon, much less ‘cavorting’ with one.

Although, at least she hadn’t fully cavorted with him yet. That would be entirely too much, actually cavorting with someone like Jamison… Wouldn’t it? No, there was no way she was the type of girl to do something like that…

“Oi, Mei!”

“Huh?” she said, startling from her reverie and realizing that she had stopped sewing. “Sorry, what?”

“Can I come out? Get a bit of a stretch before bed? Stuffy in here, y’know.”
