Yeah, I know I post a lot of these step-count pics, but I walk a lot in order to stay active while I’m rehabbing my left elbow. Last year, I messed it up pretty good. My doctor called it “soft tissue damage,” and he said it takes forever to heal. Well, around the beginning of August, I was throwing and loading a lot of product into different containers. The total weight per week was in the neighborhood of 20,000 to 25,000 pounds in five days, and that went on for several months. Well, as soon as I started building my profile here on IG, my elbow said, “Nope, I’m done for a while bruh!” What followed was a nasty case of tennis elbow (tendinitis). My physical therapist said the inflammation (any medical issue ending in -itis is a form of inflammation) had spread to the surrounding tissues. Weightlifting has been out of the question for a while, and that has SUCKED! The solution? Strengthen all of the other muscle groups around the elbow EXCEPT for the extensors ( the muscles on the posterior side of the forearm, or the muscles that allow you to bend your wrist back). Doing this will allow the extensors to rest and heal while strengthening the other muscle groups so they can help take more of the load while working and working out.
