So I’ve seen this floating around for a while now and something finally clicked?

It’s not even taxpayer dollars. It’s not being paid for by taxes, it’s being funded by donations from wealthy people. It’ll go on and happen regardless of how much taxes go up or down. People STILL oppose it.

They are literally just opposing giving people UBI regardless of where it’s coming from, so up until now the whole “taxes will go up, so we can’t do this” argument was just another arguing point and not something they actually cared about.

It really is just “we want poor people to stay poor no matter what” and they don’t even bother to try and hide it.
