(Jay is just teasing. I'm convinced the ninja would be pretty chill with bug Kai, and Jay is usually the first to say "That’s so cool!" whenever one turns non-human)
Anyway this is why oppo is the best! (And here you have my first ideas for bug Kai, I'll probably modify this design in the future)
A few months ago, while drawing the ninja in my style for the first time, I realised that Cole and Lloyd basically have the same hairstyle, they just swoop opposite ways. This naturally makes it hard to remember which one's hair moves what way and I'm always getting it confused.
A couple days later I drew Kai with unstyled hair and I was like "wait this is the same as the other two" and then doodled a short comic about it, there's a little bit more to it but my back is killing me right now and it took me way too long to figure out how to make cool Kai fade into diet Kai T_T
I saw there's some discourse going on about the ninja's hairpieces and it made me remember this thing. I'd write a whole paragraph about my choices when drawing this, but again, my back hurts a lot, like a lot (remember to straighten your back please)

I’m your au is Skylor more prominent? I’m sad by the lack of Skylor in the show and lack of kailor. Would yours be different? If so what do the others think of Skylor and Kailor?

But if looking at the questions now, I do agree that the lack of their relationship and skylor herself makes me MADDDD ASF
In the SWAP AU Kai would probably be more stable than his Canon self, and also being raised by Nya would change a few aspects of his character too, like not being a playboy TOO much and actually consider your relationship with someone.
In Canon these two had their disagreements and fights and misunderstandings, mostly on kai's part I think? With how he can close off or not contact her for a long time or how he values his ninja role very much.
(And his grief after seabound ofc)
So here they would be able to talk over stuff better, they have more time with each other (since Kai is the one who stayed with Lloyd and the other elemental masters in Season 9), so they would probably be more "healthy" too
As for what the others think of Skylor, I'm pretty sure the same way as in Canon with no drastic changes.
As for Kailor, the others support it from the moment Skylor got into their side. As Kai is one of the youngest, that also makes a subject the others, especially Cole and Jay, tease him about.
"Ohhh little lad got a girlfriend!"
And such teasings, you get it.
Skylor was probably also more involved with the ninjas after seabound and Kai's sacrifice, giving a look into how they all cope and grief differently while also supporting each other♡
