“Comfort character”
I planned on keeping it as just a sketch, but I got emotionally attached. I started to think about how I’ve been collecting so much Dante & DMC stuff over the past year now that I feel much more comfortable expressing my interests freely out in the open without any fear of judgment. It’s truly made me a much happier person to bring a little part of DMC with me everywhere I go. Whenever I buy new merch, I feel like a child again. It’s such a soft sort of excitement; strong and warm. It’s simply so lovely to have a character that makes you feel such immeasurable joy you think your heart will burst. Humans are funny like that, I suppose. We get attached to figments of our own imagination, we create art of them, we project onto them, we theorize about them, and even torment them in our art (jsjsjs)
In short: having a comfort character sparks this child-like joy inside of us, and I think it’s quite the lovely thing. Ily demon unc.
