The Firelight Song
*short read on Claggor x reader confessing their feelings on a bridge*
fluff, friends to lovers
You kicked your feet from the bridge ledge and felt the cool breeze tugging at your clothes and whip through your hair. A reassuring darkness crept over while the busy city began shutting down. Only the sounds of fluttering wings could be heard in the background rather than the clanging pipes or the usual hissing smoke.
"Man, the Fire lights are everywhere tonight" you quietly mention while pointing to the subtle blotches of green that shined in the night. Claggor adjusts his goggles, in hopes of getting a better view of the insect's shape. "Yeah, it's been a while since we've seen this many" You continue to stare around, trying to make sense of where they all went when the city life interfered with nature's plan.
A buzz rings around your ear before eventually flying down onto one of your fingers. You watch intensely as its light softly flickers. "I guess it likes you" he watches you with a soft smile, seeming to be more mesmerized with you than with the lights that dimly surround you. You stare at your hand, concentrating on your breathwork as if its antennas smelled all of the excitement and fear contained inside of you.
After a few still moments, the flickering traveled elsewhere, away from your smooth knuckles. The buzz traveled next to you before finally silencing itself as it rested in his brown waves. "I guess they like you too" You playfully bantered before swatting the beetle away. His gaze never left, only growing in admiration as he watched your lips curve into a slight smile.
You look down into the dark waters below before reaching into your pocket. "I forgot I had this" he pulls out a small wooden music box and gestures it towards you. "You. fixed it?" you caressed it's corners before opening it to hear the tune that gave you hope in a world so dim. "Told you I could" he lightly snickered. He pulled his goggles above his head and watched you melt as the tune riddled in your ears. He always noticed you, even when you least expected it.
"Thank you" you quietly muttered. "Dont mention it" You felt his words hit your chest, something shifted. You felt a warmth that hadn't settled before, a familiarity that brought comfort. The lights began migrating away to the opposite side of where you had been sitting, leaving you both in utter darkness. You snuggled against him, allowing your emotions to speak for you.
"You felt it too?" he ponders, while brushing your hair. You finally rested the music box on your lap, resting into the rhythm of his heart. "I didn't need you to fix the music box" he stared down towards you, and raised a brow. "How come?" you quietly respond, "because you're my favorite song"
He wrapped one arm around you, allowing you to fully submerge into his chest. You both embraced, as if two lost harmonies became one full song.
The Performance | Chapter 2
A continuation of the night with Claggor
**Claggor x Belly dancer**
The music faded around you, but you still found the rhythm lingering in your steps as you walked down the stage. Your breath was steading itself as your coins faintly chimed with each movement. The crowd began to disperse, some cheering, some blowing kisses and some anticipating the next show of tonight. But despite your surroundings, that lingering tension remained.
And then you saw him, standing to the edge of the curtain with his hands tucked into his coat. He hadn't shifted his eyes off of you ever since you two had locked eyes the first time. He remained locked, steady and unreadable, causing the tension between you two to rise. You stepped closer, unsure if it had been the rhythm had been pulling you there, when suddenly he spoke first. "You faltered" his voice was low and steady, as if wasting words had been a sin, a crime he could never commit. His voice brushed against your skin, smooth like velvet and unexpectedly gentle for someone with such a larger frame.
You tilted your head and stared at him, not in shock but with something deeper. A kind of stare that asked a question without needing any words. "You noticed?" He nodded once, "Only because I had too" Your eyes searched his, trying to read the intention behind his words. Was it judgement, or something softer. "The way you dance, makes it seem like you're telling a story" he said "And you watch like you already know how it ends" you mention with your chin slightly tilted and your fingers brushing at your coin-adorned hip scarf. Your eyes never left his, your body is still but your heart is racing, and you swear he can hear it.
He doesn't look away if anything his gaze deepens, as if he's searching for the right words to effortlessly flow between you. Then softly he replies "I dont," His voice is low and hesitant, "I know how I want it to" His words lock in place in the already air dense environment. You feel them hit your chest, in your breath as your hands tighten against your hip scarf.
The crowds and cheers tune out behind you, fading as if the city itself is holding its breath for you. You take a step closer, placing a soft hand on his chest. He doesn't flinch, or move it away but instead peers down and then returns his gaze back at you. "You're still dancing" he responds with a shy smirk carved onto his face. You smile back while softly tilting your head. "Only because you're still watching" The tension doesn't break, but deepens. And even while you stood still, another chapter had been added to your story.
The Performance
short story on Claggor x bellydancer
By night, the Undercity had been more radiant than its neighboring city. Occasionally on nights like this, music had bounced throughout the Undercity's underground clubs, blending with the rhythmic clashes of distant machinery and the clanking of Jericho's cutlery in his humble restaurant.
As usual his restaurant was packed.
The alleyway lanterns burns low, casting violet hues across the dimly lit soot-stained walls. The steam curled from the vents above and the crowd cheers with anticipation, knowing that behind that curtain, you waited like a secret, delicately wrapped in silk with coins adorned over your hips, ready to raise the room with every step.
The music begins. Low and sensational, inviting the crowd to sway in quiet anticipation. You step into the light as your red laced costume gleams underneath the lanterns above. Every step you take is deliberate and slow. Your hips carefully sway in small circles and your arms slither through the dense bar air while your feet softly glide through the wooden floors. Though the crowd is hysterical, clanking their drinks in your favor, you aren't dancing for them. Your hips tell a story, not of luxury but rather survival, a remembrance of the struggle your beloved city had gone through.
And as you raise your gaze above the crowd, you notice him, Claggor. A towering man with crossed arms, studying your every movement. You've seen him before, usually in front of blueprint filled tables or fixing one of his inventions, but tonight, he's watching. Not with hunger or awe, but with reverence and focus.
Your eyes meet causing you to falter a short breath, not visible for the audience, but enough for you to feel it. Claggor doesn't flinch, but his posture changes, slightly. He holds his gaze upon you, steady and unblinking as if your movement is a blueprint he's trying to memorize.
You spin, causing your coins to chime joining in with the crowds soft cheers.
Your eyes meet again, and this time he smiles. It's faint, but it's real, as if it had been one just for you. The music excites the room, causing the audience to jump around, clank beers and roar in excitement. Your movements become faster, sharper as if you allowed the song's energy to carry you. You keep your eyes glued to each other, returning a faint smile in return. Your heart is no longer beating with the drums, but rather it's syncing with his.
The percussion ends, and you take a graceful bow, feeling your hair fall backward as you stand up and straighten your posture. The crowd continues to erupt, but you don't acknowledge, instead you look at him. Watching as he mazes through, making his way over to you.
In that moment you knew this wasn't just a dance, it was a beginning to something new.
The Race
a short story of you and Mylo racing through the streets of Zaun
friends/fluff/nostalgia
"Catch up Mylo" you playfully teased, leaving him slightly behind as you raced through the crowded and littered streets of Zaun.
He raced behind, trying to catch up with you. "What do you think I'm trying to do?" You could only look back with smiling eyes, enticing him to keep up with your wide strides.
You both had been childhood friends since forever, even watching each other grow up together. You witnessed the good, the bad, pretty and the ugly that Zaun had to offer, yet despite everything, you too only remained closer than ever.
Even though you were racing with no set destination, it was moments like these that made you feel closer to him. It all felt as if your world had never seemed stronger even while you lived in a weakened city.
Despite the rough surroundings around you, you found yourself reminiscing on every corner and street that laid in front of you. The brothel you two had both awkwardly walked away from, or Jericho's, a restaurant that you two regularly visited to keep your bellies full, and finally The Last Drop, a bar that was owned by his late father Vander.
The stories that were laid out in front of you only reminded you of your childhood. You two believed you had grown up, yet just like the night, you too only remained young, despite your obvious physical changes.
Time never seemed to fly, even feeling as if this moment right now had slowly stretched in your very own eyes. Together your laughter and heavy footsteps echoed throughout the city as if you had been reliving the memories that had been scattered around you.
He finally caught up, dashing in front of you before playfully aiming the usual finger gun while winking at the same time. "pow" he lightly muttered before eventually taking the lead, leaving you in the trails of dust that had been scattered by time.
Our Wish
short story with Mylo and reader stargazing on a rooftop in Zaun.
fluff/kissing/no smut/
"Are we almost there yet?" you hollered as you two climbed, pushing away ivy from the side of the stone building you were climbing on. "Y'know I don't do well with heights, Mylo" you added, trying your absolute hardest to not peer down at the city that laid below you.
You felt the sun's shadow gently cast over your face, making it easier to see where your hand needed to go to safely climb. It felt like an eternity had passed since you both had seen each other.
Oftentimes he was busy, even picking up shifts at his father's bar to prove he was ready for adult responsibilities, but today he was offered a day break to, in his father's words, 'understand the importance of balance' "Just focus, it'll all be worth it" he chimed, only having one hand to support his frame on the stone ledge.
"Jeez stop being a show off, you're freaking me out" you exclaimed, watching him freely dangle from a small platform that poked out from the buildings side. "Pfft, loosen up a bit" he gently smirked, forcefully launching himself to another cobblestone platform so he could finish climbing the building. You slowly lingered behind, concentrating on your hand placements so you didn't plunge to your death. You weren't as agile as him, yet you still loved to challenge yourself even if it wasn't for monetary gain or publicity, which all seemed important to him.
He finally made it to the top, offering his hand and pulling you up with him. The red-orange sky had slowly dimmed into a reddish blue hue. The stars were far clearer than what you could make out from your bedroom window in the Undercity, and the cosmos and planets seemed closer than ever before.
Your eyes widened with admiration, watching the constellations dance in your favor while Mylo tried acting uninterested, appearing even boastful because of your expressions. "How.. did you find this place" you muttered before sitting down onto the cold cement ground. "Little Man" he replied while joining you down onto the ground. "What do you guys not get from him" you lightly teased, this time cracking a smile while your eyes glinted.
His arrogant tone shifted into something more pleasurable and warm-hearted. "Eh, it's a lot we don't get from him, but I figured this was special." He traced his eyes to yours while he fidgeted with the peeling concrete on the rusted rooftop. "Y'know stars are your thing"
Appalled you looked at him,"Since when did you pay attention to my words?" you questioned, half jokingly while also half serious, intently staring back into his warm but now heightened face. He scrambled for his words "Uh, you know-, when I feel like it's.. important?" he half confidently said while constantly fixing his posture.
You silently snickered while waving your head down. "You're ridiculous, Mylo" he rolled his eyes, allowing his usual arrogant behavior to slip in, "More like, amazing" he teased while subtly raising one eyebrow. You couldn't help but giggle, "Two things can be true" you joked back which caused him to crack a crooked smile. He pointed to the infinite night, "Hey look, a shooting star" an iridescent beam shot by quickly before you could even realize. He cocked his head back to you, "You, gonna make a wish?" he asked, this time averting all of his focus to you. "I'll do it if you do it" you replied. He playfully shot a finger gun, a gesture you both did when in agreement and you shot one back.
You fidgeted with your clothes, lightly smiling into your shirt as your mind raced with the possibility of your dream even coming true. You weren't a child anymore, but the thought always intrigued your mind, if one dream could be answered, what would it be. You shut your eyes, trying to reflect on all the things that you could've ever wanted. You quietly made a wish in your head, and reopened your eyes slowly.
You peered over at Mylo, who was still making a wish, even silently mouthing his words as if he were saying them. You continued to stare over the city, your heart fluttering at the thought of something so innocent even able to happen. "What was your wish?" he abruptly questioned while staring off into the dark and vast galaxy above. "Can't tell you, otherwise it won't happen" you bantered while cocking your head over to one side, your hair draping over your shoulder.
He lovingly stared at you, as if everything he probably wished for had happened right there. You noticed his gaze and shyly smiled back, reciprocating the same softness, flashing your soft dimples towards him. "Mylo" you softly said feeling your smile slowly fade as you looked down into your clothes. "Thank you for taking me here, it's.. beautiful" For once he received a compliment with grace, you even noticed his ears slightly turning red but you figured to probably not mention it.
He looked down into his own shirt, tucking away his pride. "Don't, mention it.- you deserve more than this" By now you two were shoulders distance apart, unafraid of the big emotions you two carried. He cupped your face, before you two rested your eyes and leaned in for a soft kiss, hoping no one would back away. You joined in an embrace, now able to feel each other's heartbeat pattering throughout your clothes.
You felt the kiss ending, and together you pulled away. You placed your head onto his chest, feeling your face and ears turn red. "I think my wish came true" he calmly stated. "You think?" you snuggled deeper into his chest as he wrapped his arms around you. "Alright alright, it did" he defeatedly joked while pulling you closer into him.
Mylo x Reader
Short read on a forbidden love story between Mylo and the reader. (Before the explosion)
fluff, kiss, no smut
You felt the breeze blow through your hair and tug at your clothes as you raced on the rusted rooftops of your beloved hometown, Piltover. Despite coming from different worlds essentially, Mylo became one of your greatest friends and together you spent most of your time parkouring off various rooftops. In moments like these you both hadn't felt more alive, shouting as you slid down slanted roofs and leaping across gaps that led to dark alleyways below. It had been the only way to really have fun, despite carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, your friendship meant everything, even if it would've been frowned upon.
"Catch up!" he shouted at you. As usual he was in the lead, occasionally throwing finger guns at you to really rub in the fact he was faster than you. With enough determination you were sure you'd beat him, occasionally coming close once or twice but never successfully getting in front of him. Lucky for you, you knew all of the secret detours and used them to your advantage to get ahead. You took a path you knew he wouldn't recognize and within a matter of seconds, made it to the end of the rooftop you both were finishing.
"I beat you!" you exclaimed once you reached the end of the rooftop while playfully aiming a finger gun. He halted while furrowing his thick brows in astonishment, wondering how you managed to find another detour. "I thought we said no to shortcuts" he smugly questioned before sitting down on the edge of the roof. "Aw is someone a sore loser?" you teased before sitting down next to him. He rolled his eyes, but deep down you knew he secretly loved the quick-witted response.
"Me? a sore loser? please" he kicked his feet back and forth while chuckling at your comment. Even when you are both bantering, it makes moments like these feel so much more personal. A sentiment that made you realize that there wouldn't have been another reality you would have enjoyed if neither of you were there.
Together while you were catching your breaths, you watched the airships soar underneath the night sky, dangling your feet over the rooftops edge. "Would you drive one of those things?" he questions while furrowing his thick brows and squinting his eyes, the usual face he'd make to throw another finger gun. "Maybe, as long as you're not going to shoot it down" you teased, watching his expression fade from precision into a rather smug smile.
"Would you ride one of them?" you questioned while bringing your knees to your chest anticipating to hear his answer. "Or let me guess, you just plan on shooting every single one down?" you playfully jeered. He lightly chuckles, preparing to gather his words. Mylo wasn't usually someone who thought out his words, he usually said everything he had to and would deal with the consequences later, but as usual, things changed when he felt he was truly himself.
He noticed your inquisition and tried to back out of the grave he dug himself. "Well I mean..." his voice now full of sincerity struggled to find the proper words. He stared into your warm eyes, knowing that it would've been best had he been honest. "Id be open to riding an airship... if you were there with me" he muttered the last part of the sentence, quickly averting his gaze to stare elsewhere.
Your smile dampened and you softened, "What was the last part" you questioned, pretending you didn't hear. His eyes widened, surely he said it loud enough. You two were shoulders distance apart, you could've picked up anything without trying. "Oh c'mon... you mean to tell me I have to say it all again." You played into his delusion, a little too well. "Just the last part! You said you would ride in an airship if-" "If you were there with me" he quickly but loudly sneaked in. Rejection consumed him, it was obvious how strongly he felt about you yet he thought he had done such a good job hiding the fact. He stared off in the distance, unsure how you felt, even preparing himself for the worst.
You rested your head on his shoulder, smirking as you laid there. "That wasn't too hard was it" you teased, feeling his heart palpitate as if the hard part still lingered in the air. He rolled his eyes, silently taking in your words while trying to calm himself down. You paced your own breathing, gathering your words to share how you felt. "Mylo.. I really like you too" you stared at each other, feeling the raw and unstable emotions pile to the top.
"We're not, forbidden are we?" he dreadfully questioned. The tension between Piltover and Zaun had only encouraged hate between both communities. Fear began resurfacing the air even though the initial hard part had ended. "So what if we are?" you expressed "We do unsafe things all the time" you lightheartedly reminded, before you both erupted into a short laugh. You embraced each other, allowing this new stage of your relationship to develop. "Thank you for making me feel whole" he responded, while cupping your face. You massaged his knuckles, bringing yourself closer to his lips. Giving a kiss you both had waited eternity for. It was soft, passionate but all true. Rubbing your fingers through his hair while he wrapped himself around you. You both pulled away, softly placing your foreheads against each other. "You're welcome, Mylo"
