"That’s true… But it’s still a bit crazy. At least they were older though… And yeah, mom had me when she was only 18." Pisti was still confused as to why her mom had so many children at such a young age. "Yeah… They’re a bit overprotective sometimes." You mean a lot of the time. Mom should be okay with anyone, I’m sure she wants grandchildren. A lot of them. Winning a bird over is very dangerous."

"Oh man, you weren't there for it. Our oldest sister brought home this one guy, and we had to stop her bird from pecking his eyes out. She was so embarrassed, nya." Nope, she didn't even notice she said that. "Even I think it was too soon, but what can you do? She started as soon as she possibly could. But, what's done is done, and we're all here, so we might as well enjoy it." Sometimes she just doesn't approve of her mother's choices.

What if part of the bird approval in Artemyura involves pronouncing the birds name correctly.

Like. They don’t introduce the bird by name to anyone outside of immediate family because they don’t want people to practice saying it’s name.

And they give the bird complicated names to make the challenge harder. Except for Phoibe.

But when the owner of the bird falls in love and it’s time for the approval, that’s when they share the birds name.

Phoibe is the exception, although everyone might just say Nike (and she will laugh because it isn't the female version of the name). Do not give the bird a nickname. That is bad.

I’m sure we all got the ‘I love sex’ gene from our mother. You’ll just have to talk to him about it. Maybe he’ll learn to like the person if you really like them."

"I'll admit that it is a great way to ensure your country is going to make it though. And they are much older. Do you know how old mom is? It's ridiculous. Talk about getting a head start." Yep, that is mama Mira for you. "I bet it will be the same for you. They are like second parents. Mom will probably be okay with anyone, so they make sure we are making the right choice. Winning over a bird is like a right of passage."

"With as many sisters as we have, I’m shocked that I’m not already…" Of course, she could be, but she didn’t know because she didn’t get along with the others. "I’m sure we get annoying after awhile. Being the youngest sibling isn’t always the greatest. And that’s true, I’m sure she has some kind of trick to get men. And he does, but I don’t know if they married before he turned into a giant lizard or not. I’m sure we will one day, we are still young! And that is always a hard thing to do."

"Well, only two or three of them actually have someone." She held out her hand and counted her fingers, just to double check. "Two. I don't know if anyone is trying yet though. I don't think anyone wants to have kids as young as mom did, so they might be avoiding it." She purred slightly. "What am I going to do if Nikias gets jealous when I find someone? It would be really disappointing if he drove that one person away."

"That could also be why she can’t find one… I’m sure rumors of that had spread now and no one wants to deal with that. And I don’t know what it’s like being an older. Just a younger one." She sighed and poked at her flute. "Ah, but you do look older than I do. Besides, I’m sure that if you had kids that your children wouldn’t have ears. Drakon looks like a giant lizard but people aren’t afraid of him."

"You'll probably be an aunt before you're an older sister. That's too bad too, because I personally like having a younger sister." Her ears perked up. "No, I doubt they would, but that doesn't stop men from thinking they will. I envy him. He has a wife, doesn't he? If she love him, scales and all, then I'm sure we'll both find someone. The problem is getting your bird to agree."

"That’s shocking. Normally she would have had some by now. I’m still shocked I’m not an older sister yet. She’s not going to get another husband if she denies everyone." Their mother was frustrating sometimes. "Ah… Not exactly… Everyone thinks I look 12 so that doesn’t really help…" She was going to leave out a few things there.

"I think making it a hobby to husband-hop doesn't help her. I don't know how I would feel being an older older sister though." Yes, that is a thing. Not to mention there were too many sisters to begin with. "Well, we are in the same boat then. You look 12, I look like a cat--it's almost like guys are afraid of me." Her ears drooped and she pouted a bit.
