"The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah. Summary: set in france during World War II. it talks about two sisters, Vianne & Isabelle, who take different routes for surviving through the nazi occupation. Vianne, the older sister, focuses on protecting her daughter and home, while Isabelle, the younger sister, joins the french resistance and risks her life to help the downed allied pilots.
Thoughts: this made me cry so bad that now whenever someone mentions germany or france, my mind immediately remembers this book😭. At first, i was kind of annoyed at vianne's naivete and isabelle's reckless behavior, but it gets better, trust me!! the amount of growth isabelle went through after joining the rebellion and how vianne's behaviour and her thinking changed as the years went by, all because of the tragedies they both went through, is honestly insane (not really; I mean, war changes people and it's more than true in this book)!! Like, I cannot recommend this enough. 😭 P.S., I read this knowing it would be sad and because i wanted to cry. well, mission accomplished. 😂
why is he so good-looking!!!! 😭
Nagumo is officially my favorite fictional character.🙂↕
Nobody can make me change it.🙂↔
watched the last episode of Lord of mysteries
It was absolutely amazing!!!!!
i won't spoil it for you, but i will say mind-blowing. i think this is going to be my favorite donghua <3
If you haven't started watching it yet, what are you doing?!
Watch it. Now!!!
Blackout #1:
currently watching 4 animes together, 2 of them being donghua
trying to write a new story, TRYING being the keyword [maybe I'm in a slump]
I just started to read a new murder mystery book, one that's been on my TBR for a year now.
Lastly, I'm having issues with registering for my courses, those issues being that the courses I want to study this semester are not open. 😭
A new semester is starting. Am I a new me? — Still not sure, but we'll see.
Good luck to me! Jiayou! ✊
Just got into a new anime, Lord Of Mysteries.
I. AM. OBSESSED!!!!!! and only on the 5th episode too, which is not usual, for me especially.
I first got into it because I saw some reels on Instagram, and I loved the art, the way the artist drew the characters, the buildings, and just everything. I loved it, but once I started watching it, I became invested in the plot, and now I am a fan.
I want to say a lot more, but I don't know how to without spoilers, and also I'm not sure what is happening, but I can say this: he's a transmigrator, and it's fantasy, but not your usual transmigration fantasy anime; it's different, like powers and fighting against the bad guys who want to steal a notebook (a very important notebook) [for now, that's where I am].
A very important note: I went into this blind, like I didn't read what this was about on Google, and I still haven't searched, so do your research, but I say go in blind like I did; it's great!
But I definitely recommend it!!!!
Which one are you? 😆 I am definitely feeling the tea + anxiety one right now.

"The Expectant Detectives" by Kat Ailes. Summary: Alice and Joe just moved to the quiet town of penton in the Cotswold Hills; alice describes it as "posh hippy," to start a new life in a safer place compared to the high crime rate of london, as they are to-be-parents. On their first day, they decided to join an antenatal class to prepare themselves for their baby and also to make friends (at least Alice did). everything was fine and dandy until the owner of the shop, where their prenatal classes were taking place, was found dead during one of the sessions (spoiler: *while one of the women was giving birth), and suddenly they were suspects in a murder investigation. Alice sets out to find clues as to who is the killer while struggling to adapt to a new city, make friends, and try to figure out how her boyfriend feels about all of this (as in the baby and the new move) and why & what he is hiding from her.
Thoughts: I thoroughly enjoyed this book; I won't lie, it was a bit slow in the beginning before the actual murder took place, but it was insanely hilarious once we got into the murder. I really liked how realistic it felt from Alice's point of view, her struggling to make friends with the rest of the expectant mothers and being socially inept (sooo me!!!), but I personally think they liked her and she was just overthinking it. I especially loved how she and one of her new friends decided to become amateur detectives on a whim (not really) because they were bored and had nothing to do (maternity leave and also not the whole reason 😉). It was a bit frustrating watching the detective and how she treated the suspects (I mean, everyone knows it's innocent until proven guilty, but not with her; it's the opposite!). My favorite character had to be Ailsa; she was honestly a breath of fresh air for me. She might have had her problems, but I can relate to her. Her sarcasm and bluntness made me like her a lot more than I thought I would (I usually get intimidated by those kinds of people). Overall, I absolutely loved it and totally recommend this for someone who is just getting into murder mysteries.
