Et-si is a creation event dedicated to exploring the endless possibilities of alternate romances. What if your favorite HoYoverse character fell in love with a florist, a detective or a librarian? You're in the perfect place if you want to find out!
We invite you to imagine your favorites in a romance unlike any other. From sweet domestic moments to dramatic first meetings and everything in between, Et-si is all about imagining how love might blossom in a completely different walk of life.
Hello everyone, and welcome to Et-si!
The name Et-si is French for "What If?", which is exactly what this event is about. The idea is simple: what if your favorite HoYoverse character was dating someone with a specific profession? Maybe they're in love with a florist, a librarian, a teacher, a detective or a photographer. There are countless possibilities, and this event is all about exploring those different dynamics through your own creativity.
Participants will choose one HoYoverse character and one profession from the lists provided. From there, it's entirely up to you how you interpret the prompt. You can write about how they met, what everyday life looks like, the challenges their careers create, or simply a small slice-of-life moment. As long as the chosen profession plays a meaningful role in the relationship, you're free to take the idea in any direction.
Rules
One character and one profession per entry.
The characters and professions are first come first serve, once they've been claimed they can't be claimed again.
The profession should be a central part of the prompt rather than a brief mention.
You may submit multiple entries, but only after you've submitted the entry you claimed first.
Please tag any potentially sensitive content appropriately, and make sure to keep everything sfw.
Be respectful of other participants and their interpretations of the prompts.
AI-generated submissions are not permitted.
Use the tag "#— 🍰𝑒𝓉-𝓈𝒾." on your posts and tag @dewberrydusk so i can reblog and put your work on the masterlist.
Writings must be 300+ and art entries must be finalised lineart or above. (No messy sketches; but flat colours and full renders are welcomed and encouraged!)
There is no deadline, but it would be super nice if we could wrap everything up in 2026.
How do I join?
Super simple! Here are the necessary steps.
Take a look at our Characters & Professions list and pick out one of each!
Send me (@dewberrydusk) an ask containing your prompts (example: "hello! could i please join et-si with varka and baker reader? thank you!") and be sure to let me know which blog you'll be participating from.
Make sure to check the Masterlist post to be sure you got your prompts - but do not rush! I will answer your ask regardless, but it's better safe than sorry.
Enjoy creating !
There is no "correct" way to approach a prompt. Some entries may be fluffy and domestic, others may be comedic, emotional, or action-focused. The goal is simply to have fun imagining how a character's relationship might change depending on who they fell in love with and what that person's career is.
Most importantly, have fun and don't be afraid to get creative. We hope you'll discover new ideas, try professions you wouldn't normally write about, and enjoy seeing everyone else's interpretations of the same prompts. Happy creating!
