As the battle progressed, Clair found a steady rhythm with Lady Shea. More accurately, Lady Shea was always there to grant aid. Much of the rhythm-making came from the other but Clair was finding it easier to adjust to give Lady Shea better vantage points and to keep the beast from her.
Too caught up on the dance of battle, she hadn’t realised the slowing beast. Well, until Lady Shea called out to her, of course. She glanced over at her fellow magical girl. Light enveloped her and Clair understood what was to come.
“Simply bring out all the light you can, I will bring the beast to you so do not fret over aim!”
The beast seemed to have caught on, perhaps due to the other’s blinding light, but it was far too late to escape now. Using the wind surround her, she guided the beast to Lady Shea. She could not miss now!
If she did, however, Clair would… ah, perhaps rush to her side before the beast attacked once more…? Perhaps she should have paid more attention to her tactical lessons…
"Thank you!"
Shea give a small nod, waiting for Clair to move to a safer zone. Once the shot was clear, Shea felt her staff shake with power. She takes aim and mumbles a quiet spell.
The air around them turns quiet, it all feels like its going in slow motion and that's when a beam of light shoots out towards the beast!
Either it retreated or fell- The sky clearly shined in victory, but the damage was done. Shea took a deep breath to center herself, before she carefully made her way to Clair. "Are you alright-?" Shea asked " Im surprised that you were fighting all alone...." She never dreamed of doing something like that... but maybe that has just grown as the more popular option.

It had been a near-nonstop string of events from the start of the expedition to its end- something to be expected, of course, but enduring it was another thing altogether, and by the time that they had boarded the ship to return home, Elffin knew that the moment he even remotely relaxed, all of what he experienced would come crashing down at once.
He was right- bedridden the first day of his return and only slightly better with each passing day, a stark contrast to the news circulating the monastery. A plague striking the territory not far from the monastery, concerns of its spread alongside the upcoming event leaves much in chaos.
It'll only take one unlucky student for it to catch amongst the monastery's residents- and, as with many others, Elffin's wariness that it had already happened causes him to retreat to the further corners of the infirmary, though he knows it was a futile gesture.
Someone approaches, footsteps soft and uncertain. She speaks, but he doesn't recognize her voice, so he lifts an unseeing gaze to meet where he would guess she was.
"Ah… I came here to help myself, but it seems the expedition has left me worse off than I thought," As an answer and an explanation, he continues, "If there are any here with more severe circumstances, I ask you treat them first."
...
"Well... I only ask because you seem a little standoff-ish" Shea admits, looking back at the others just to make sure she didn't leave anyone by themselves "I- Can do another check around and then come back to you if that helps you set your mind at ease"
and that she did, Shea went around a second time, insuring she and those she was helping to treat were safe. Once she was done, Shea made sure to wash her hands after that- cleanliness matters after all! Especially after treating the sick. She made her way right back to that man again, cautiously.
"I'm back" She said, louder this time- "Everyone is... taken care of- so can I... Take a look at you now?" Something was off- she just wanted to be sure he had proper care first "If its nothing bad.. I'll leave you alone to rest"

"Izana, Archduke of Izumo, heir to its divine bloodline, descendant of the gods, keeper of prophecies and all that boring junk! I'm a mere priest here in Fodlan, though, kept toiling away all day in that musty cathedral!" Izana swoons dramatically, catching himself with ease before he evens stumbles. What a waste it was for his beauty and divine presence to used and abused so. He was made for much grander things! It wasn't his fault the deacon simply couldn't see that, "But today, I am a detective! As are you! We must unmask this mysterious rat and bring him to justice!"
...
"Or something like that. I've never arrested anyone before, despite there being a jail in my castle." He shrugs, picking at the corner of one of his nails with an offhanded hum to himself.
"I guess we should... hmmmm..." He wasn't really all about persecution and justice or whatever knights and their ilk did. Izumo had always been a peaceful country, to the point where there was never really any need for stuff like this back home, "Probably identify the target's location first?"
That's a long title for one person.
Or maybe this guy just added more to it, he seemed to be the type of person to do that. Shea wasn't actually that impressed, more dreading the upcoming investigation. She didn't even know if he was as serious about this.
"Okay... Mr Izana- its nice to meet you, and uh- I guess its a nice change of pace" Shea admitted, she won't lie, she misses just wandering around from place to place.
...
Wait what did he say? She stares at him in disbelief, quickly rubbing her eyes as she tried to hide her reaction "Oh" Shea responds with a little to much dread in her voice "Y-Yeah that sounds right, uhm- Im sure we can find something in the place they were working at" She was scared they were going to find some freaky secret room with all sorts of scary things inside, but it is what it is. "... Do you know where that is at?"

Fortunately, the other—Lady Shea—had the instincts necessary for livelihood. Though there was quite a bit of fear in her. Not that it was a horrendous thing! Caution was necessary to prevent rather foolish endeavours.
And, most of all, we will rid of the world of the source of her fear!
It was her duty after all. Clair’s smile brightened at the other’s affirmation. What a grand ally she had made! Within seconds, a light shield forming around her. Perhaps it gave her an ethereal look? A lady could dream…
“Why, thank you! Do not worry, this fiend shall be rendered to dust by my hand.” She turned to attack once more but a realisation struck her just a second too late. “Ah! And I implore you let me know if the vicious shadow brings you any harm, I can fly you away from its clutches.”
With her advice spoken, Clair rushed forward to attack. The shadow’s reach was large but, thanks to the shield surrounding her, there was little it could do against her. Whenever it reached just a hair too close, Clair would push it away with the winds at her command. She forged her wind lance, sacrificing her flight for the time being.
Whoosh!! She threw the lance at it, its form hardening until it pierced the shadow. Unfortunately, the attack forced her to be at the beast’s mercy. Fortunately, the shield kept her from feeling the worst of the attacks.
Her flight returned to her once the lance hit its mark and she no longer had a need for it. She glanced over at Lady Shea, just to check if there was anything to worry over.
Wow.... She's so cool.
Shea was beyond impressed! She thinks that she's going to need to add a page onto her "Magical Girls I look up too" scrapbook!
The one that's a secret from everyone, friends and family. She uses it as a way to remind her of why she fights— and how others fight even while balancing their own hectic lives. She kept her defenses up, making sure to keep up with Clair and keeping distance from the creature.
With every attack , she shields, if Clair asked for support, she granted it.
"Miss!" Shea called out, noticing how the creature grew slower with each attack "The beast is weak! I think we can take it out, I- Uhm. I wait for your orders!" Shea stood her ground as light magic slowly circled her. She only has one real attacking spell, one given to her as a "final blow" type of deal.
Besides, the quicker they finish this battle, the more time she has to talk to Clair and that's what her mission was.
Helping others.

The idea of chasing some guy who is in a giant rat suit sounded so stupid and fake on paper. Yet here she is with her partener in this issue. He seemed pretty excited to be here... but something told her deep down that this was a one man job with a jokester following behind her.
"So uhm, Lets introduce ourselves first– My name is Shea and Im uh... A priestess!" She extends her arm out "And we gotta get a rat captured right now! For the safety of everyone!"
But again, she doesnt believe that he's here for justice at all! Who is she to judge.
"Do you uh... Have any ideas?" The dragon asked, her tail wraps around her body nervously.

Things got hectic pretty quickly.
Once that expedition group got back it seemed that things would go back to normal, but then the news of illness spreading not to far from here (she thinks, at least) cause the monastery to quickly spiral into organized chaos.
Shea is no stranger to working with illnesses, but not to this degree. She wonders if she'll be any help to the situation, yet backing out would be seen poorly wouldn't it? But then there's the rising fear that she may do something wrong- and then everyone here becomes just as sick! Or worse!!
No, No... Shea knows she shouldn't think like this- its unbecoming to a retainer, So instead- she keeps a straight face and tries to help anyone she can get their eyes on.
Her eyes scan the room and finally finds her target! A man, blonde, kinda quiet from a distance. No matter, she is already making her way towards him. "Hey-" Her voice was soft, as if not to disturb anyone around them "Do you... Need any help?"

The treacherous shadows seemed to be quite a bit sneakier than Clair initially anticipated. Quite the pests. Fortunately, her saviour was one like she. Rather than land beside the new arrival, Clair curtseyed in front of her.
“You have my greatest gratitudes,” the shadow, of course, could not wait around for pleasantries. It reached out to both of them, but Clair swirled around, her gales causing it to retreat once more. “You may call me Lady Clair! It is lovely to meet another lady in batt—”
The shadows below Clair began shifting, another attack. “Good heavens, were you not taught manners? Fret not, I shall teach them for you.”
She lowered herself closer to the ground, her lance formalising as she struck the ground. Of course, she ensured her new ally would be unaffected by the attack. Clair looked to the light bubble, quite the beautiful shield.
“Would you have the strength to grant me this shield? I believe it should make my plan of attack easier.”
Shea sighs in relief, she didn't think she had made it in time! She stood side by side with the blonde woman "Y-You're welcome. My name is Shea—" The attack came suddenly, but she isnt surprised, quickly moving out of the way.
She was used to staying in the back, helping if needed, so being so close to the action was actually kind of exciting! and terrifying! She could feel her legs tremble.
Wand close to her, Shea counter attacks and sends a rain of light towards the shadow– hoping that it would retreat and give the pair to discuss a plan to take this thing down. So when Clair spoke to her, Shea gives a brisk nod "My shield? Yes...! Of course." The movement was swift, a small spin and a gentle tap in Clair's general direction. It took only a moment before the light bubble around her "There! It should hold back a few attacks! Please be careful!"
of winds and light
In the darkened streets of a sleepy city, shadows sprung forth from the darkness of the people’s hearts. These shadows could not be defeated with simply humanity’s will, no, no. They could only be defeated through the magic within one’s heart.
In other words, the city needed…
“Ah, a magical girl. Come to defeat me?”
I would prefer a more elegant title, but I suppose I shall make do. Clair smiled as the shadow reached out towards her. Its inky form could not so easily trap her, not when she was in her element. To be one with the skies.
“Mark my words, fiend of the shadows!! I, Lady Clair, shall defeat you and return you from whence you came!”
The declaration was made with the elegance of a kind breeze as Clair flew away from the shadow’s clutches. This magical girl career, pastime, er… quest? Well, either way, it had only been a month since her magic awakened. Of course, Clair had learned the basics of her magic quite speedily. Still, there were moments—
“Ah! Unhand me you fiend.”
—like today when her less than refined skills sprung out like a horrific tangle. She sighed, using the shadow’s slowness to which the shadow brought her closer to the ground to wield her lance of wind. A burst of wind came from below her feet and she slashed through the wretched thing.
She patted herself down, ridding herself of the lance in the process. Her flight came in the form of an ever charitable wind and she grimaced as she finished losing the inky remains of her attack. How uncouth…
A bright light seemed to come from somewhere nearby, perhaps the lanterns had gained light, making the shadow much clearer for her. Yelping, she ducked from another attempt at her life. How unfavourably close…
ꫂ❁ @nagasinnocence
She made her way in quite a hurry!
The rumbling can be felt anywhere- and who was she to ignore it. Her skills weren't made to fight alone, but she couldn't just sit there and do nothing.
Shea quickly dodged rubble and people to make her way to the center of the fight. Once she heard the sounds of magic , Shea froze to catch her breath. This outfit wasn't made for running, and perhaps she should've transformed closer to the monster− but its to late for regrets.
Oh- Actually, It seems someone was already here, this at least meant that she wouldn't be fighting alone. She pulls her wand out, the light shimmering at the end
She watches for a moment, before noticing how the shadow tried to do a sneaky attack after that graceful dodge-! She couldn't let that slide.
Just before the shadow could even think of an attack, a light bubble engulfs the blonde woman! protecting her from the creature "Phew! I'm glad that went off in time!" Shea called out, approaching Clair carefully "I'm here to help."
"Shea!"
The name exits his mouth, unexpected, while he sits in his classroom. He is only looking over the notes on lesson plans, attempting to figure out exactly what goes in to writing these… his eyelids droop slightly, unable to bear the monotonous unknown… when it comes to him in a snap, firecracker-popping him from drowsiness.
…Hm?
Why did he say that?
But his sudden bout of lucidity brings familiar sensations to his attention. There is someone here whom he knows, no, beyond that—someone he cares a great deal for. He does not know why she has come, nor when, but regardless of all the little things he rises from his seat with fervor that sends papers to the floor.
"Shea?"
He only needs his intuition to guide him. He whips through hallways as though possessed; though he skillfully dodges those walking to and fro, his wild movements draw confounded eyes. None of that matters! Sai would gladly make a fool of himself if it meant he could find her faster! If he could find her easier, if he could find her, if he could find her—!
And there she is.
"SHEA!"
It is unbecoming of a retainer to the Goddess to emote so strongly—as far as Sai's standards inform him. He will happily, however, break every single rule he holds himself to if his beloved sister, Shea, was involved. He rushes to her, stopping just short of ramming speed to take her into his arms. "My sister! When did you get here… and why? Blessed Naga above, to see you healthy and well…!"
She spent a lot of her day doing idle work. Her mind's worries silent as she kept it busy with what she had to do next, but she cannot lie to herself. The hint of loneliness crept up in her.
Shea was used to doing almost everything with her brother, and of course being this far away from home would eventually gnaw away her confidence that she had. She had be down all morning, look for busy work to eventually push past these feelings.
Perhaps people noticed, they looked over at her with sympathy clear in her eyes. She wasn't really looking for pity, but what does it matter, she cant control. There seemed to be some commotion down the hall, she didn't take any notice to it at first until the foot steps grew louder. Before Shea could even react, Sai had already pulled her in for a hug. The dragon, completely bamboozled by this situation was to stunned to speak.
Instead, Shea holds him tight, as if making sure this was real. "Sai..?" She finally asked, looking up a her brother. She was doing her best to keep her face as stoic as possible but failed miserably. Teary-eyed and eyes filled with relief, "I-I'm doing fine... Sai.. Im... Im so happy to see you" her lips quivered, as if she hadn't seen him in forever.
Plotting Call!
