Day#5: Covid19: LifeUnderLockdown.
Woke up quite late in the morning just to have the sense of balance in life and to remind myself it is still Sunday. I knew yesterday itself me and my better half planned many things to do today, and I’ve already lost 20% of the day by waking up late, though I didn’t mind it and was very calm about it. As, we’ve all the time in the world to go about it.
I would like to mention what we’ve planned:
1. House cleaning. 2. Mopping. 3. Vacuum cleaning 4. Bathroom Cleaning. 5. Motorbike cleaning. 6. Bedroom Arrangement. 7. Dish washing.
Just before starting the planned activities, we realized we are already hungry and thought to postpone the plan until after the breakfast. (I was fine with anything else to get away with the things that we’d planned :-) ). So, I’d started preparing maggi, the quintessential Indian dish for all bachelor and all newly wed couple. Had prepared the same in no time, and had it with chat Masala, I’d to because I’d overcooked maggi.
Never mind, just when we were about to start on our planned activities, my friend Happy called. Well, again got some respite from what I’m about to do :-). We had long and detailed discussion about the current Covid19 situation in Chattisgarh, Karnataka and overall India. He mentioned one pertinent point that approximately 100 people showed symptoms in his hometown but only 15 extremely serious cases had been sent for testing. That made me thinking if you take this same model across India, it would entail a situation where tens of thousands of cases were not being sent for testing. May be because of that the cases are low in numbers. I was apprehensive about this number from the beginning, though thought leave it, not to continue on that again, since I’d discussed about the same thing yesterday with KCN. Anyway, we’d discussed for around 1/2 an hour and started with our planned work finally. I forgot to mention, even Happy’s daily routine started with mopping, cleaning and then watching Ramayana, whoever knows him knows, he doesn’t even clean his own underwear every day, leave aside mopping and cleaning. So covid19 did something which many couldn’t. :-).
Finally took out the dusty dormant vacuum cleaner which was lying there on the bottom drawer in the kitchen for years, to clean up the House. It took me approximately 2 hours to clean, 1/2 an hour more for bathroom. My wife cleaned up the bedroom completely and washed the dishes. So in 3-4 hours we’ve cleaned up the house and finished every planned activity except for motorbike cleaning. By then we were exhausted and hungry, so started cooking. Prepared rice/dal/aloojira in no time and had it quickly.
Since we were exhausted by then took rest for sometime, and my wife slept like a Kangaroo sleeps in her mothers pouch. I knew at evening she loves to have some tea, so prepared the same for her and in no time she woke up and got energized like she had two bottle of Glucose.
After that the rest of evening spent as usual watching TV and preparing night meal. One activity was pending “motorbike cleaning”, thought to do it tomorrow. She studied for some time, and I spent some time writing this Blog.
