Fiverr Review - We Become a Seller on Fiverr - Very Good Experience Indeed!
In Part 1 of our look at Fiverr, we looked at the origin of Fiverr and how you as a network marketing entrepreneur can use the services for sale on Fiverr to your network marketing advantage.
To fully understand the Fiverr experience, we wanted to see what it was like selling on Fiverr. So, in November we established a free account (all the accounts are free to establish).
Two days after our first gig was posted, we had a sale, and we have to say, it was a very cool experience! Since then we've actually filled 36 orders and have earned money and have moved up to be a preferred "#1 Provider." Now we don't plan on making Fiverr a significant form of income, but it is a valid platform for further network marketing possibilities (described below).
Selling on Fiverr - What Would You Do For $4?
While the seller spends $5 per basic gig, when you are a seller on Fiverr, you only make $4 of that. Fiverr takes 20% right off the top, so you are actually working for $4 per gig. OK, so why would you want to try and earn a meager $4 for doing something that might take some real effort? What if it took you 30 minutes of time to do something for $4. You are doing something that may not even qualify as minimum wage.
Plus, how in the heck do you get found in that massive data base, especially when you, as a newbie, have to be chosen out of the vast army of fellow "Fiverr-ites" looking to beat you out for that modest $4 (or less)?
Well, it's not as bleak as all of that. Fiverr has a vast forum and many blogs through their customer service department on how to get noticed, and move up in the ranks. Remember, your average gig after you are established could be significantly more than just $5. In our case, as we went up in the rankings, we now have additional "gigs" we can offer up to $40 per gig. That is a real opportunity to make some money.
However, the most important angle of Fiverr (in our humble opinion) is there is also the possibility you can meet someone in another business that creates alliances outside of Fiverr that you may never have encountered. Those connections are worth a LOT. We've made some of those connections and for that point alone, our Fiverr experience as a seller has been well worth the effort.
Signing up to be a Fiverr seller is easy (and free) to do and getting your gig in place will take some thought - there is limited space for a title and you need to be good at keyword tags. Here is where you writing skills will help you out.
Fiverr Selling Success Is About Copy-Writing Skills and Tags As with network marketing, your skills at copy writing are imperative. You have 1,200 words to describe what you'll do for your Fiverr gig, and that is not a lot of words. Your Fiverr title needs to be exact and on the mark. You'll also be given the ability to attach tags to your Fiverr gig, and once again, be exacting in your use of keywords so you can be found.
You have the option of using a video of up to 60 seconds, and this is imperative for success. Fiverr states that you increase your odds of selling something by 220% in using an "introductory video". We don't know how they computed that statistic, but we are in agreement that videos can offer an insight to a prospective Fiverr buyer that words and an image cannot do. If you do decide to sell on Fiverr, USE A VIDEO as part of your gig!
One frustrating aspect of creating a title for your gig is Fiverr says you have 80 spaces to work with, and that is not really true. Their system will not allow a title past 50 spaces. Fiverr is trying to keep the titles from being overwhelming and with the number of Fiverr members advertising, the sheer size of long titles would be unwieldy and cumbersome on the results. In this way, we'll give the benefit of the doubt to Fiverr who is trying to assist you as a Fiverr member to be succinct.
We get the point - tell visitors what they'll get and grab their attention. While we wanted more in our Fiverr title, we had to hone our thinking to be very focused on what we said, and in the end, keeping our headline short is probably in everyone's best interest.
As we stated, we view the Fiverr selling experience as a sort of experiment to see how it works, but the connections you can make are worth the effort, and we view any income we make to be a bonus. We take the view here:
Your experience as a Fiverr seller should be with a wider long range goal in mind. As a network marketing entrepreneur, by experiencing how Fiverr works on the selling side you can expose your skill sets to new people you have never met and isn't that what network marketing and making money online is all about? Future alliances from meeting new people can bring synergy to your network marketing business.
So, how much can you make on Fiverr? The "secret" as with network marketing is no secret: Hard work, correct use of copy-writing skills and persistence to know what to do.
As you sell on Fiverr and get more gigs, you'll move up in volume. Every time you increase your sales, you achieve new levels in Fiverr, with additional benefits.
Here is a summary of the levels from the Fiverr site:
Level One - You've been active on the site for 30 days and completed at least 10 orders while maintaining excellent ratings and a great track record. You'll automatically be promoted to Level One. At this Level, you'll gain additional features making it easier for you to offer more advanced services and generate higher income.
Level One features include: ExtraFast Gig Extra / 2X Gig Extras ($5, $10, $20) / Gig Multiples (max. 4)
Level Two - You made over 50 orders in the past two months while maintaining excellent ratings and a solid track record. You'll automatically be promoted to Level Two, unlocking advanced sales tools to further expand your services and increase your sales. You'll also receive priority support.
Level Two features include: ExtraFast Gig Extra / 3X Gig Extras ($5, $10, $20, $40) / Gig Multiples (max. 8) / Priority Support
Top Rated Seller - Top Rated Sellers are manually chosen by Fiverr editors. Promotion is based on the following criteria: Seniority, volume of sales, extremely high rating, exceptional customer care, and community leadership. As a Top Rated Seller, you'll gain access to more extensive sales tools, early access to beta features, and receive VIP support.
Top Rated Seller features include: ExtraFast Gig Extra / 4X Gig Extras ($5, $10, $20, $40, $100) / Gig Multiples (max. 20) / VIP Support
Conclusions About Fiverr
We are in an exciting time on the Internet. The fact that a site like Fiverr can exist and be as big as it is in only 4 short years is pretty astounding. But then, today's global economy is only going to get larger as the technology to expand keeps moving at the speed of thought and the ability to move faster keeps accelerating.
What else is out there like Fiverr? There are sites popping up that are in that $5 range, and others that have different price points and structure. Here are five such sites:
GigBucks - The biggest selling point GigBucks has over Fiverr is that gigs can be priced between the range of $5 to $50. Sellers also have the option of getting paid via Payza and credit cards. Like Fiverr, joining is absolutely free, and you can post as many gigs as you want.
Seoclerks - Seoclerks is a large and busy platform for all things related to SEO and Internet Marketing. If you are looking to buy or sell in this niche, it is a great Fiverr alternative and it may even be a better option for you than Fiverr. Not only does the site get a ton of traffic, it allows the widest range of money you can ask for your gigs, from $1 to $999. Payments are made via PayPal, Payee, and Alertpay/Payza.
Taskarmy - Taskarmy may not be as popular as some of the other micro jobs sites, but they try to avoid the bidding wars and poor work quality that is so prevalent on Fiverr and its alternatives. All sellers are screened and manually approved before they can be listed and they are encouraged to list competitive, yet more realistic prices for their services. There is a certain sense of order and professionalism on this site, and it's definitely something to check out for both buyers and sellers.
Zeerk - The best part about Zeerk is that you can charge anywhere from $2 to $100 per gig. There is also no commission and no fees. Sellers are paid through PayPal and Alertpay/Payza directly by the buyer.
Fourerr - Fourerr is very similar to the new Fiverr in both the look and feel. But, as the name suggests, gigs start at $4. Sellers also have the ability to add gig extras for various small amounts, and there is a rating system as well. The only real reason to try out Fourerr is that it is a pretty popular platform. So, if you want to expand your reach, this is the only one of the Fiverr clones that may be worth checking out.
Set-up your selling gigs on Fiverr or some of theses alternatives but always offer value and follow through and you too can be successful in this arena.

Quitting Smoking - How Hypnosis Works and Why Other Methods Often Fail
Often the people who come to me in my Toronto (Ontario, Canada) Hypnosis Smoking Cessation clinic have tried just about everything to quit. How does hypnosis help a smoker quit for good when numerous other methods failed? Here's what I've learned over the years.
The three key elements responsible for smoking behaviour in increasing order of significance are: Nicotine, Habit and "Secondary Gain". Unfortunately the least important "the nicotine" is the one that gets all the attention when it is really the last two that are the biggest obstacles to a successful quit.
I've had the opportunity to interview many people who have used stop smoking medications. A common theme among them is unpleasant side effects and that many users face a long hard struggle to remain smoke free after they come off the drugs. This is why the long-term quit rate (1 year) isn't that much better than cold turkey. Smoking cessation drugs don't properly address the secondary gain and habit issues that are such an important part of smoking behaviour. All the drugs do is make smoking highly unpleasant and unsatisfying. Unfortunately in rare cases they make all of life seem unsatisfying which is a possible explanation for why some users have committed suicide while on these drugs. Life just doesn't feel worth living.
We have 2 minds, a conscious mind and an unconscious mind. Our conscious mind is the logical, rational mind that we use to think with, plan with, and that we would love to believe is in control. However, it is the unconscious mind that really controls our behaviour because it stores our memories, it stores our emotions, it stores our habits. So even when we think we are making a conscious decision, we are really making an unconscious decision because we must go into the data in the unconscious mind to make that decision. Is this right? Is this wrong? Should I, or shouldn't I?
If you are a smoker who is at the point that you are ready to quit, then these two minds are in conflict. Your conscious mind knows that smoking is bad, but when you think about it, it doesn't really feel bad. Cigarettes may feel comforting, or like a companion or a crutch that you need to get through the day. These feelings of "perceived benefits" or "secondary gain" are the strongest drivers of your smoking behaviour. That's why nicotine patches, gums and inhalers fare so poorly in the war against smoking. They don't provide the secondary gain. They just aren't satisfying. Unless the secondary gain issues (which are most often erroneous unconscious beliefs) are dealt with, you may initially succeed at quitting, but substitute another undesirable behaviour like eating or simply just start smoking again after a short period of time.
It should be noted that until you reach the point of internal conflict, hypnosis is likely to be unsuccessful because you have no motivation to change. People who don't want to quit are looking for all the ways that hypnosis won't work rather than cooperating with the process to get results. Motivation is important because hypnosis doesn't remove free will. You could still smoke after hypnosis, but if you have a desire to be a non-smoker, and nothing driving you to smoke, why would you? The answer is--you wouldn't.
Hypnosis is the only modality that can address all three of the elements responsible for keeping a smoker smoking. A skilled hypnotist can help you to identify, isolate and transform these feelings so that your conscious and the unconscious minds are aligned on being a non-smoker. Once this occurs your drive to smoke is greatly reduced. Many people could quit at this point, but a good hypnotist will then layer in techniques to prevent nicotine withdrawal and give you the feeling that you have already quit. This makes smoking feel more like something you used to do, but don't do anymore. This helps to break down the habit and make you feel like "I can do this".
Hypnosis is not magic, but for many who have struggled for years attempting to quit, it often feels like it
Link Building Strategies - Without Link Networks
Google's mass de-indexing of blogs within networks used for paid links shook the SEO world to its core during April 2012.. Sites which offered high PR contextual backlinks for a monthly fee had their power taken away overnigh.
Is Google right to do this? Are website owners right to pay for links? I don't care! If you want futile moral pontification you've come to the wrong place. I'm interested in what happens now...
Several internet marketing "gurus" advocated link networks (some of which had a pretty good affiliate scheme going) as a part of a wider link building strategy. Some internet marketing "gooroos" actually advocated link networks and nothing else, we haven't heard much from them recently!
So how does this change our wider link building and SEO strategy?
Pat Flynn, the cherubic-faced ex-architect that gets better results than hard-nosed SEOers wrote recently about what happened and what now. Pat concluded that his diversified link strategy still works without the link networks.
As you can see above in Pat's revised link building strategy, he uses a first tier of Web 2.0 sites, top article directories and new blogs, backed up by a second tier of mass article submissions and social bookmarking.
Pat goes on to recommend blog commenting, guest posting, forum profiles, relationship nurturing and social media to broaden the type of the incoming links.
The key word here is diversification. If you had link networks as part of a diverse link building strategy then you will be less affected by the recent changes. You may even be doing better as maybe your competitors relied on link networks alone!
AdSense Flippers Justin Cooke and Joe Magnotti offer some great advice as always - they suggest a way forward in their revised SEO and link building strategy but stress that this hasn't been tested thoroughly. This is a follow-on from their original link building strategy.
The guys are going to be experimenting with article submission sites going forward.
They are also going to be less "unnatural" with their anchor text. This is because of a separate development where Matt Cutts recently announced that Google will penalize "over-optimization"which may mean too many links coming in with the exact same anchor text. So less anchor text with "buy cheap flowers" for a florist website and more anchor text with "click here" and the website domain. Again, variety and diversity is key
How to Get More Natural Backlinks to Your Website
While buying backlinks from sellers on sites like SEOClerks or Fiverr is frowned upon by many people, if they are used only as a part of your overall backlink building strategy, paid links can give your search engine results a boost.
The best links, however, and the ones that Google would rather a site has, are the links that occur naturally, because they are an indication of the popularity and trustworthiness of a website. In an ideal world, a website would get linked to, simply because of its high quality content, but in reality, website owners need to be a bit more proactive in generating those links for themselves.
If you have a website or a blog and you want it to rank highly on Google and other search engines, here are some of the ways that you can generate more backlinks to your site.
Article directories
Article directories are a good way to get permanent backlinks to your site and they can bring traffic as well. On the highest quality article sites, such as EzineArticles, you can place two backlinks per article. However, articles published on these sites do need to be written properly and they can't be overly self-promoting.
Blog commenting
Placing comments on other people's blogs is another simple option. Most blogs allow comments and on most of them you can add a URL, either to the comment itself or to your user profile. You will need to make your comments meaningful and useful, though, or they will simply be removed as spam.
Participating in forums
If you join forums that are related to the niche of your website or blog, you will be able to leave comments on existing threads or start your own threads. You can usually add your website address to your forum profile, possibly include it in your profile signature, and sometimes use it in your comments. Just like blog commenting, though, you can't spam on a forum, or the moderators will remove your comments and possibly bar you from the site.
Guest blog posts
Guest posting on other people's blogs will get you some more niche specific links to your site. If you can offer useful and informative content that will be of interest to the readers of a blog, the blog owner may publish a guest post for you that includes a link back to your site.
Encourage the sharing of your content
Make the sharing of your content easily done by adding share buttons to each post. If the platform you have used to develop your site does not already have share buttons available, there are plenty of free services that will supply you with a share button widget that you can add to your site. You can easily encourage more people to share your content by asking. Just leave a friendly reminder to share at the end of each post.
Social bookmarks
Adding your URLs to social bookmark sites, such as StumbleUpon and Reddit, will gain you valuable backlinks as well as traffic. To avoid being accused of spamming, you will need to be seen to participate properly in the site, which will mean liking other people's bookmarks and adding bookmarks from other sites as well as your own.
These are just some of the ways that you can generate backlinks for your website and they are things that you can do on a regular basis. The best strategy is to put aside one hour a day for SEO tasks and to create more links. Unfortunately, it's an ongoing process that will take some time, but ultimately, it will improve your rankings on Google and other search engines.
How to Use Facebook For Business
There are a growing number of social media sites being used by businesses in their company marketing efforts. The secret to using social media effectively is not to be everywhere, but instead to have an online presence where your current and prospective customers are online. Contrary to what many believe- Facebook is not just for college students or for personal use. Facebook is increasingly being used by companies in many creative ways such as to build their brand image, to drive traffic to their website and blogs, to announce or get feedback on new products, manage their online reputation, attract employees, communicate company information, and as a means to intercept potential prospects. For many companies, this increased company communication is leading to enhanced relationships with current and prospective customers. In this article, I will outline how a planned internet marketing approach can lead to positive results for your business. I will begin the article by addressing a few common misperceptions about Facebook that I hear most frequently from my clients. Next, I will detail how to use and set up the various sections of a Facebook account. I will conclude with several recommended applications that will add functionality to your company Facebook page.
Common misperception #1: Facebook is only for personal use Each time I give presentations on using social networking sites for business there is the perception in the audience that Facebook is only useful for communicating with friends and family. Facebook started as a closed community for college students, and has not been as effective as LinkedIn at highlighting the business page and advertising features. However, Facebook continues to grow in use by companies looking to reach the more than 200 million active users, and has very powerful and targeted demographic tools that help companies to hone in on their target market.
Common misperception #2: Facebook is only for college students According to the Facebook Press Room page, there are more than 200 million active users on Facebook and a million new members are joining each week in the U.S. alone. Contrary to what many of my audiences believe- more than two-thirds of Facebook users are not in college. According to comscore.com, more than 50% of Facebook's users in the U.S. are over 35; the single biggest age demographic in the U.S. on Facebook is now between 35 and 44, and Facebook's fastest growing age group is 55 and older. They also reported that Facebook ranks as the top social networking site in the majority of European countries.
Common misperception #3: I am too busy for this, and besides-it is not worth my time Some of the reasons why social networking sites like Facebook are increasingly being used by companies is because they provide businesses the opportunity to easily and efficiently communicate regularly with the people in their network. Networks can include people with whom they are currently doing business, people whom they would like to do business, vendors, and potential business partners.
Social networking sites like Facebook are serving as an adjunct to, and in some cases, replacement for, traditional means of communication such as newsletters and direct mail. Facebook can be used to regularly announce or get feedback on new products, spotlight new employees or existing employees accomplishments or talents, reward customer loyalty, promote special events and special offers, as well as to create partnerships. According to a Forrester Research interactive marketing online research survey (March 2009): "40% of companies surveyed expect to cut direct mail budgets, while 35% will decrease newspaper spend, and 28% will slash magazine money in order to spend more in interactive media." Some companies have reported that by using these online means of communication they have reduced their marketing budget while at the same time increasing sales.
Why Social Networking works: What companies that use social networking sites are finding is that these sites allow them to more regularly communicate with people, vendors, clients, colleagues, and prospects, which, in turn, helps business understand their customers needs better, increase trust, and therefore build better business relationships. Most people know that Facebook has been helpful as a tool for connecting or re-connecting with friends, family and co-workers. And most understand that even the personal connections have the potential to become new business opportunities-so it makes sense that Facebook can be used to communicate with those in the business milieu.
How to Set Up a Facebook Profile: To make use of Facebook you need to set up an account. After registering you need to do the following in order of importance:
1. Create a Profile In order to begin to use Facebook you must create a profile detailing information about yourself. Based on site policies, you can create only 1 profile, and it must be tied to a human name, preferably your real name, not a business name. We will review setting up your business page later in this article, but first you must set up your personal profile. If you are a married female, use your maiden and married names so more people can find you. Facebook has a "Friend Finder" feature that allows users to search for people by school, company, or organization. In order for people to find you -you must so be sure to list all of your previous schools, organizations, employers, in your profile. Thoroughly complete the "About Me" section to describe your business and what services or products you offer. In the "Information" box on your profile page, you need to include links to your website address, newsletter, blog and other business information such as your company contact information, logo and a photo of yourself. Your profile page should be considered your "branding" page or your marketing campaign. If you are working for a company-you don't have to list all your personal interests-just limit your entry to listing your professional interests. You can syndicate your blog on your profile page. By doing this you are enabling any post that you make to automatically appear on your profile page and all of those people who are connected to you will see it.
2. Build Your Contact List Facebook was created based on the concept of connecting with friends. You can send and receive "friend requests" and once accepted, your friend can view your profile and you can view theirs. To begin connecting with people that you know, you can either import your address book/ contact database, or you can also search Facebook for individual people.
