(( okay! I want to start off with an apology for inactivity. I have a thousand excuses but I don't want this post to be huge. Now, onto what this is really about. On top of the tarot cards I've decided to make a lyricstuck type thing for Mamono to the song "Angels Are Weeping" by Nox Arcana. How I'd like this to work is anyone who wants to join gives the song a listen and chooses a set of lyrics they think fits their character best, (seeing as you guys will know them much better than I will) and sends them in through an ask to Daniel or Joseph's blog! Make sure to specify which character for those who have side blogs. Also this is a really long song so use as many of your characters as you want. I'll pick and choose which ones get in due to lyric availability if I have to, so get out there and pick your lyrics my pals 8) ))

i’m sorry

I’m sorry to all the LGBT people who have been told by so called ‘Christians’ that they’re going to hell and that God hates them. I’m sorry to all of you who have ever been abused or bullied by the church and made to feel like you’re worthless and not welcome because of your identity and sexuality. I’m sorry to all the trans kids who were told that they were sinning and not welcome in church because they were trans. I’m sorry to all of you who have been and who continue to be ridiculed by people who have forgotten what it means to follow Jesus, who call themselves Christians and yet don’t practice love in the way they are taught. I’m sorry for all the Christians who believed that they were better than you, who labelled your homosexuality and gender identity as sin, and who forgot that they too (as am I) are sinners. We’ve all done some pretty horrendous things but God loves us anyway  - that is the whole point of the gospel. We are forgiven through Jesus for our sin. 

I want you to know some things. First of all, whether or not you consider yourself a Christian, as someone who follows Jesus I really want you to know this (and I hope I do not offend) - God loves you. He loves you so much. He loves you as you are - including your sexuality, your gender identity, everything about you. He does not always like the things we do (the way a parent doesn’t like everything we do), but he loves us. We are his children. He died to save us.

And I’m just really sorry for everything you’ve suffered as a result of these attitudes. I’m so sorry for what it’s done to you and to your self-esteem and confidence. I’m so sorry it’s given you the completely wrong idea of what it means to follow Jesus Christ. I’m sorry that it’s hurt you so much it’s turned you away from the church.

And to all of you who suffer from mental illness (I myself have experienced rejection from the church for my mental illness), again I am so sorry. You are precious and important and don’t let anyone tell you that you’re possessed by demons and that you’re not getting better because you’re sinning. Jesus understands your pain.

Human beings are rubbish and they make a lot of mistakes and some Christians (not all, but certainly a small minority) think that their beliefs somehow make them better than people who don’t believe or who have different beliefs. They’re no better than anyone else, and in the Bible Jesus hated it when the pharisees behaved like this. He does not like how they behave towards people and how they make out that somehow you’re a sinner and they’re not (but Jesus still loves them, because that’s who he is).

so, I’m sorry. And I really pray that you will all realise and see that Jesus is love - and that, to him, you are more precious than anything you could ever imagine because he died for your sake. I pray that you will be healed from all the pain you’re in as a result of the attitudes of some. I pray that you will not feel rejected but accepted. And I pray that you would know that God is love, and he loves love - and he does not like hate.

Joseph looked around the rather large academy. He knew he probably shouldn’t be there this long before his tour was scheduled to start, and that he was probably going to get in a fair amount of trouble for it, but he didn’t care. Well, he would later, but not now. The academy was amazing, and he was going to drink in the sights for as long as he was able to. Which of course meant until people realized he wasn’t wearing a visitors pass and most definitely wasn’t a student. 

The teen bounced throughout the building, peaking into various rooms and checking out the various wings. All for one destination. Which he seemed to miss no matter how many times he looked. The culinary arts. After what seemed like hours of searching, Joseph gave up. Briefly anyway. Taking a moment to sit on one of the benches instead.

Joseph hummed along to the hymns he had playing through his phone as he stirred up the assortment of vegetables and meat he had cooking in a pan. He wasn’t making anything too special. It was just stir-fry, even though it was a home recipe that he had made. All that was different was the spices and sauce that went in, which hardly made it special to him. He was so caught up in the music and cooking that he hardly noticed a knock at the door.

“Crap,” he muttered to himself as he switched the heat to low, “I’ll be there in a sec!” He shouted as he set everything down and made sure nothing would catch fire in his absence. Joseph spared one last glance at his kitchen before running to the door and tugging it open. He didn’t recognize the person behind it. “Ah... Hello?”

“I’m Isa, your assigned nurse for the evening.” She scribbled his name down on the required form quickly, smirking at the poor boy. “I’m just trying to get you in and out of here, hun. If you want, we could play twenty questions…” She glanced down at the sheet of paper, “Pardon, 34 questions, or you could just give me the important stuff. Are you allergic to anything? Do you take any medications? Follow me.”

Isa lead him over to one of the many rows of beds shrouded by long blue curtains, motioning for him to sit. She handed him a clean emesis basin, then took and tossed the used bag in the hazard bin. There was only so much she could legally do before those questions were answered. Still, she pitied the sweating shaky kid, putting a glove on and rubbing his back gently.

Joseph shot her a grateful glance. He had no comfort on the island as of yet, minus a few acquaintances. Moving as far away from home as he had completely alienated himself from his family and, although that was the desired effect, he missed leaning on people. “Isa,” He said with a smile as he held back a bit of bile. “Questions? Q-questions are fine.” He balled his fists as he resisted the urge to throw up, wanting to answer her questions first. However, his attempt failed. He spent about half a minute retching into the bin, getting all of what his body needed out, out. Tears brimmed his eyes from the sting of his stomach acid when he finally felt comfortable sitting up again.

“N-no, I don’t have any allergies or medications. Stopped those a while ago,” He said, sounding exhausted but clearly well enough to answer the rest of what she needed. “What else do you need?”

Eli ran a hand through his hair, accidentally brushing his hood off in the process. “No problem!” He gently took the other dove from him, making funny faces at it as if it were a toddler. “They’re quite beautiful.” 

Only he could say that. Anyone else would probably be laughing at the fact that he was holding the dove the way some people would hold a sandwich.

Joseph grinned at the stranger and let out a quiet chuckle when he saw how his bird was being held. “Thanks. For helping and for the compliment. Or well… their compliment.” he said as he tugged gently on Remiel’s wing to slide one side of the harness into place.

“Uh, if you want to give her a little freedom you can wrap the leash around your arm. She won’t be able to take off that way.”

Theo smiled at the cute little priest in training. How cute. As if Father didn’t have enough people spreading this outdated word. Seeing a bible in his seat instead of an angel made him a little grumpy, so he decided to play a little prank on the kid.

“The Bible? Gosh, mister, I have never heard of that.” He smirked, resting his chin in his palm. Truly, the Bible was a mess, misinterpreted over the millennia and written down wrong in the first place. Father really didn’t enjoy the whole deal. The only thing it really had correct in the old books was his vengeful nature, and no one ever paid attention to that. The new books were okay. Jesus is a cool guy. “Tell me all about it, young father.”

He smiled as one of the waitresses brought him his normal tea and side of sugar, piling a bunch in before taking a sip. Ah… That was at least normal and comforting. “So, piccolo padre, you happen to be in my seat on this fine morning. Do me a favor and at least tell me your name.”

Joseph’s eyes widened. “The Holy Bible? Are you sure? At least seventy percent of the world’s population is dedicated to this thing.” The stranger in front of him must have been joking, right? There was no way they didn’t know what the Bible was, or what it was apart of. If they were telling the truth, they would’hve had to have been living under a rock their entire life. And that was just sad.

Joseph watched the stranger move as the waitress brought the drink, carefully noting how the sunlight accepted the other’s sharp jawline. God knew how attractive he thought the person across from him was. From the broad, muscular shoulders to the almost delicate looking mass of hair. Everything was attractive and Joseph couldn’t help but gulp when they directed their gaze back at him. He questioned God’s choice to create someone as stunning as they were.

“Uh.. I uh, don’t speak Spanish. Or is that Italian?” Joseph bit the inside of his lip. How stupid. Not even knowing the language the stranger was speaking. “But, my name is Joseph. Sorry about sitting in your seat, the sun hit it nicely… You can have it back?” He suggested, giving the person across from him a nervous smile.

“O-Oh, uh, that’s nice of you, really, awfully sweet, but, uh, actually, y’see, I-I’m – bird… intolerant?” Yikes. One would think that five or so years of covering up her vampirism would make Jess a better liar on her feet, but one would think wrong. But now that she had gone with bird intolerant, she had no choice but to continue along with the ruse. She took a subconscious step backwards. 

“Erm, that is, I love them from afar, but when I touch them I break out into hives? That’s definitely what I meant before when I meant I would ask to touch them, if not for the fact I’m allergic to birds,” she stumbled out, barely even registering anything she was saying. Darn it all, she really had wanted to touch those birds, and now she could never have the chance, thanks to her “bird intolerance.” She hoped she never had to see this Joseph character again, and not only because he wore a rosary around his neck; that was probably the least of her concerns at this very moment.

“Really Joseph, I do appreciate the sentiment! You’re nice. I should leave immediately. Goodbye!”

It was at this very moment, as she tried to quickstep away from the situation, that Jess realized her boot was stuck in the mud. Things kept getting better and better. She tugged her leg up a few times; it wouldn’t budge. She smiled a panicked smile at Joseph, continuing to tug her leg in vain. Darn. Darn it.

“Uh...” Joseph stared at her, eyes wide and clearly confused. She seemed to be panicking, and he couldn’t figure out why. That and she talked very, very fast, making him unable to say much in the first place. He glanced between her and the boot that was stuck firmly in the mud. “I don’t know what’s making you want to leave all of a sudden but I’m sorry,” he said as he pulled back the hand his bird was sitting on, instead positioning them on his shoulder and sliding the ring onto his upper forearm.

“Erm... Would you like some help?” Joseph didn’t immediately extend his hand this time, learning that it may have been the cause for the Jess’s sudden panic. “Or does touching someone whose been in contact with birds affect you the same way?” He frowned a little as he asked the question. Not at Jess of course, but at himself. Sure, his self confidence was pretty high for someone with the kind of anxiety he had, but in situations like this he could practically it drop. Social anxiety made it hard to talk to people in the first place, and now he just felt like he was scaring people away. Attractive ones too. Not that that was all he saw when he met someone, of course. 

Joseph chewed on his tongue for a second, trying to think of some other reply. “If contact is a problem, is there any other way I could help? I’d feel pretty bad if I just left you stuck in the mud without making sure there was nothing I could do.”

Eli grinned a little, the corners of his eyes crinkling a little as he did, “I think Remiel is a wonderful ally to have when you combat your own inner demons, but this tiny bird can’t make them go away on his own.” Silvery-blue eyes glanced over at the dove perched on his shoulder and he cooed softly to it. 

“Come on now little one, he needs you.” Eli frowned when the bird pecked at his cheek a little, tipping it’s round head at Joseph’s finger. A moment passed with the bird still rooted to Elijah’s shoulder but finally it seemed to give, waddling it’s feathery behind onto his owner’s outstretched finger. 

Joseph glanced between his bird and the stranger, giving him a small, genuine smile. The kindness was practically rolling off the other in waves and it really helped the silver haired boy to become less nervous. "No... He has never really defeated any of them. He only really provided comfort and reminded me that my suffering will end some day." It took a moment for Joseph to realize he was in a little more trouble than he thought.

"Uh... I don't want to stop you from going wherever it was you are going but... Could you take Olive for a second? I have to put his harness on." Joseph shot the stranger a nevouse smile. He hated asking for favours, and he definitely didn't want to weigh whoever it was down with them.

Joseph yelped as he watched the lady fall. He instinctively tugged his birds closer to him so that they wouldn’t get splashed as bad as he would. As soon as the brief moment of shock was over he checked his doves for mud and was thankful to see only a few specks of filth. He, however, did not catch the same break. Joseph stared down at his muddy clothes in shock, but didn’t look angry. No. Anger wasn’t included in his emotional range. The teen stood up slowly and cast one last sad look at his clothes. He’d actually dressed nicely today.

“Ah… Don’t worry about it Miss. They’re just clothes, nothing to get fussy about.” Joseph shot her a small smile and glanced between her and his feet for a few seconds. “Uh… I uh… Noticed you liked my ringnecks. They were the first thing you looked at.”

“Still, I am so sorry,” she said as she scrambled to her feet, slipping a little but managing to avoid falling back down. She was filthy – what a terrible first impression. She was at least able to return his smile though.

“Oh, is that what they’re called? They’re real nice. I haven’t seen birds in forever!” she said while she attempted to wiggle some mud off herself. It wasn’t really working. “I’d ask to touch them if I wasn’t… well, you know. Do they have names? Mine’s Jessica, or you can call me Jess.” She began to extend her hand for a handshake before realizing that maybe wasn’t the best course of action; she reached down to grab her umbrella instead, shaking it off and taking care that she did not make this man any muddier than she already had. She took a good look at him. His clothes looked super nice – she hoped they would wash out okay. Dang, she’d even got mud on his necklace. His cross-shaped necklace. Oh. Yikes.

Joseph hummed and nodded slowly. "Yes. But uh... My name is Joseph, my birds are Olive and Remiel. Nice to meet you." Again, he spoke quietly. Social interaction was still pretty hard for him. He chewed on his lip as he tried to decide what else to say. "They are nice, yeah. Really friendly." He paused again, trying to decide if his idea was a good one. Eventually he decided it couldn't be too bad and lifted one of his birds, holding it out to Jess.

"You can hold Olive if you're careful." The bird in his hand cooed as she studied the person in front of her. "Just make sure to wrap the end of the harness twice around your wrist, in case she tries to fly away. Hold out your hand and tell her to step up."

heavenly attraction

Every day by 11 am, when the “sun” shone through the window onto his favored chair best, Theo set up shop in the Kahi with his laptop and three or four gaming consoles to get some socialization with the lower class. Which was everyone. A divine being is at the top of the chain, but such beings kept him humble. It was healthy to hang out with the rabble. Isn’t that why he stayed here, anyway? (No, it was not, he stayed here for Animal Crossing.)

Today, however, the muted light that made its way through the clouds and rain did not fall on his empty seat. It fell on a human being, a steaming cup beside him and engrossed in reading… Oh, Father, that was the bible. It seemed the chair just called the Godly to it. He made his way to the table anyway, posture slightly changing to appear more regal as he prepared for minor conflict. 

“Can I ask what you’re reading?” Theo smiled as he sat in the opposite chair, setting his bag down on the floor next to him. “You seem very interested in it.”

The morning was as normal as ever. Or at least it started that way. The sort-of-adult had purchased his usual chai tea latte and had sat down for a bit of studying. It had been awhile since he'd had some spare time to immerse himself in the word of God, and, to say the very least, he was enjoying every bit of it. However, halfway through the book of Psalm a voice interrupted him. That's where the morning differed from its usual path.

Joseph's eyes lingered on the page for a moment as he tried to build up the confidence he needed. Social anxiety always came around to bite him, especially on a day like this. When he finally let his eyes trail off of the scripture he was faced with probably one of the most attractive people he'd seen since moving to Mamono. As if he needed a anything else to get in the way of answering.

"Uh... It's the Bible." Joseph said quietly, shifting a little to better his posture. Whoever the stranger was, they made him feel like he was staring at royalty--even though they were wearing simple clothing. "And it would be a bit silly if I wasn't interested in it, considering that I am an aspiring priest."

“So you’ve got cute lil Olive and all powerful Remiel.” Elijah couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. Of course he was the one who had named a stray cat after Lilith so he couldn’t really judge. Eli straightened out when he felt the weight lift off his head, only to find the bird landing again on his shoulder anyway. 

“I don’t get why. Do I smell like bird seed or something?” He brought his arm up to his nose a sniffed. 

Joseph laughed and scratched at the back of his neck. "Well... If Ramiel could destroy the armies of Sennacherib then Remiel can definitely defeat my inner demons, right?" The teen tilted his head to the side to give his bird a hard look. He was being embarrassing, and drawing out their interaction for much longer than he would have liked. Although... His anxiousness seemed to be dying down the longer he spoke to the stranger.

"I don't know, man. Doves can be weird." Joseph waited a moment before moving his finger up to the other's shoulder. "Remmie. Step up, come on." He urged, frowning a little when he still refused to come back. "I don't want to grab him, but at this point I'm thinking I'll have to."
