Something that I wish got talked about more (and the best part of this show, IMHO) is the spot-on depiction of someone grappling with childhood trauma and the layers of self-perception and how that affects every relationship he has.  How the most crucial relationship he has is with himself.  How long and difficult a process recovery can be.  It’s incredible how good a job they do with it and how many people watch this.

Rant about Riverdale

May I just get all this out??? I mean, it had potential. But now it’s just another show full of white straight people. It had josie and the pussycats for like three episodes which was pretty cool but now they’re glorified extras. val was treated like shit by archie for the whole time. cheryl is just a typical mean girl that they can never decide if they are redeeming or not, let’s be real. sometimes they hate her and sometimes they don’t, like no one is that off-on in real life. and jughead and betty are such a bad couple, i’m sorry. they are so bland and have like zero chemistry, to me they just seem like really good friends. I always saw jughead as ace. veronica and archie was so predictable as well, oh god. like we haven’t seen the same thing in a million other shows. also archie moves through girls so fast it’s unreasonable. like, I’m not slut-shaming him, but it’s unrealistic how he’s in a serious relationship with grundy, forgets about her and moves on with val, forgets about her and moves on with veronica. it’s lazy writing. the love triangle with betty, archie and veronica was also stupid and overused as hell! and the queer-baiting!!! why did they make veronica and betty kiss? queer-baiting at its finest my friends. fucking annoying.
