Kind of useless venting but I've seen several posts about potential future relationships between Kaeya and Varka mostly because of the horses situation and because of their similar capes and while I think it makes sense to discuss it, part of me is a bit ruffled that Varka's appearance would kick off so many Kaeya talks rather than something else... Like... I get it, Kaeya and Varka dress in similar ways which may hint at a mentor relationship between them but... doesn't Varka has someone else we could talk about...? when it comes to being a mentor...? like... I don't know... doesn't he have... a second in command? Someone he left to take his place while he's gone?? I mean ok Kaeya and Varka have the same cape but... Jean and Varka anyone??? Are we sure Kaeya is the number 1 candidate if we want to talk about Varka as a knight mentor figure?? Is a cape more relevant than a position?

Even with the horses situation, while all the memes about Kaeya and Varka crack me up, I can't help but think it could be equally funny if we wanted to give Jean a bit of the spotlight. Like Jean managed an entire nation, solved a dragon crisis, dealt with political pressures and meanwhile you couldn't even bring one horse back? Mondstadt lives on but an entire species went extinct under you care?? Varka, explain.

Varka is a brother to either Frederica or Seamus, the resemblance to Jean and Barbs is way too close for a mere coincidence.

We know that he has older sisters (apparently plural, or so wiki says, but I have trouble tracking the exact source), so Frederica is a bit more likely but either option would equally hilarious. The sheer constrast clash of their personalities would be beautiful.

Tho Jean would not be able to escape the nepotism allegations despite working her ass off.

i grieve Varka's non-existant beard but I can't say I hate him. at least the man is beefy and has scars. I accept that.

i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Varka dies during nod-krai. if he doesn’t, and he returns to mondstadt, jean’s role would be rendered moot. with Varka’s death, it may not only lead the story back to mondstadt but will make the most sense for Jean’s character — to become full Grandmaster that is.

Genshin has the opportunity to do the funniest thing by making Jean and Barbara’s parents playable. Let them be absolutely synergistic with one another despite the divorce lol. Let their mother have like no interest in pursuing romance again but will actively pick their father first when drafting a team if given the chance.
