”Oh c’mon, Mya. Lighten up, would ya? And here I thought we were starting to be friends.”

”Yeah, well, if you really wanna be friends, you’d mind your own business and leave me alone.”

”Oh, Mya, yer breakin’ my heart. Just rip it out and stomp it into the ground again, why dontcha!?”

Well, I decided to attempt to paint my first background on my new iPad in Procreate, and I must admit that I’m pretty pleased with the result! I think I might be in love with this program. The blending capabilities are so satisfying!

This scene would take place prior to the start of their relationship, during the time that Timon got separated from Pumbaa and Zazu during their long journey. Timon ran into Mya after being lost and alone for several days in a foreign land. Timon is consumed with loneliness and fear, and he really takes to Mya very quickly. Little does he know that Mya had grown extremely fond of him as well; so much so, in fact, that she instinctively started pushing him away for fear of growing too close.

The TV series has my absolute favorite incarnation of Timon! I love it how they make him snarky and short-tempered without making him an outright “jerk”. I love how jovial and perky he is and how much he cares about Pumbaa. I love how they never wrote any contrived “karma trips” for him, the injuries he underwent felt natural instead of like “comeuppance”.

I love how the somewhat rare occasion he’s selfish about something he focuses on “we” (him *and Pumbaa*) and not “I”, and he almost always comes around in the end and does the right thing. At the end of the day he’s a nice guy and a loyal friend and I love it!

Timon is the best ’’’’jerk’’’’’ character because the writers could make him funny, mischievous and humorous but still a mostly kind character, which is way more than I can say for other characters of this type.

Sure, he’s like this in the movies too, but I think the show fleshed him out a bit more.
