It can often be hard to know your true self in the city. There are so many things demanding your attention, requiring interaction, obligations and responsibilities, commitments and plans. To really get to know ourselves we exchange that hectic, demanding, confusing setting for one of balance, beauty, and calm. We explore the cold mountain waters and shadowy forest floors and return with a better understanding of who we really are.

So far we have been posting photos that were taken earlier this summer before this blog was started. Last weekend we took a trip down South to explore a small stretch of the indescribably beautiful North Umpqua River before school starts and our lives get busier, and we returned with lots of photos and experiences to share with all of our new followers (hello and thanks for following btw). There are still some photos from early summer we need to get up while we edit our new batch, but we are very excited to share them with you so I’m sure it won’t be long til you see them. Keep exploring.

We explore the mountains and forests filled with tall trees and rushing rivers. But there are many layers that need exploration. The world brushing your ankles while your eyes are turned to the tree tops is full of excitement and beauty.

Shade from giant conifers wasn’t enough to keep us cool while exploring on one of the hottest days of the hottest month in recorded history. So B|W and N|F decided to explore beneath the waves.
