he wanted to propose you in the best way possible. he wanted to make it the best moment of your entire life, those type of moments old couples reminisce about in nursing homes when theyâre on the verge of death.
was he rushing up things too fast? you two have been dating for only one and half a year, wasnât it too early to propose already? what if you didnât feel ready for it?
he couldnât help it. the amount of times heâd woken up in the morning with your sleeping body next to his and wished he could experience that for the rest of his life were countless. everytime youâd smile at him, laugh, crack a joke, cry into his arms, hug him, moan his name into his ear, youâd make him wish for more.
his plan was simple: take you out for dinner, try to not ruin the mood with one of his usual unfunny jokes, then walk you to rikugien garden, stop under a colored tree illuminated by the warm lights, recite a speech heâs been trying to memorize word-by-word for a week about how meeting you was the best thing that could have happened to him. then finally take out the small velvet box out of his pocket, get on one knee and pronounce the fateful question.
âwill you marry me?â
he frowned at himself at the mirror, he looked so pathetic. clearing his throat and putting on a not-so-natural smile, he gave himself another try.
âmarry me, please?â
he remained stiff silent for a moment, as if looking at himself for a bit more would have given him some hope. he groaned, tucking the ring back into his pocket and getting ready for his day at work.
the whole tokyo jujutsu high was involved into his plan. he tormented nanami so much for weeks to suggest him a place for the proposal that the man got fed up and stopped talking to him. but he eventually gave up on the silent treatment after satoru began to bother him more. he recommended a place where he was sure you could find some peace after spending the whole night hearing satoruâs voice.
the ring was the most difficult part of it all. if it were up to him, he would have bought you the most expensive and shiniest diamond ring he could find, so that everyone would have stopped you on the street to compliment you about it and about how rich your boyfriend must have been.
but then he remembered that it would have probably been too much. your taste was simple, youâd told him multiple times that you didnât need expensive and big gifts for your birthday or for any other holiday. you were able to enjoy the smallest things, thatâs why he was madly in love with you.
so what could be better than asking a woman herself for help?
his first thought was shoko, but she immediately made it clear that she didnât want to be involved in any of it. she knew she wouldnât have heard the end of him if you happened to not like the ring. god, he even had the courage to ask utahime and mei mei for a help.
ârememberâ nobara had told him âno matter how big the ring is, how expensive it is, how colorful it is, sheâs gonna show it to the whole world. her mother, her father, her grandmother, her great-grandmother. her best friends, her ex, your ex, her neighbor, the catâs neighborâŚbasically to everyone. so it better be a kick ass ringâ
it took him a whole week to find the perfect one. he was sure he had visited every jewelry shop in the city in search for it. the sweet, old lady from behind the counter helped him through his decision. âlook for something you think she could see herself wearing 20 years from now,â she had said.
ââŚif she doesnât ask for divorce firstâ satoru had frowned and let out a gasp at that. the thought itself made him shiver.
the big day was here and satoru has never felt so anxious before. how could him, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in history, be so afraid of a yes-or-no answer?
everyone noticed it. his students noticed how he wasnât shooting energy and happiness from all pores like usual, shoko noticed how he hadnât come up to disturb her during her cigarette break like any other day, and nanami was seriously so concerned when satoru didnât walked into his studio and talked about you for an hour straight to the point he had asked him if he was sick.
hours went by, until evening finally came.
he put on his best outfit, spraying the headiest perfume he had just to be able to surprise you, fixed his hair and brushed his teeth more than two times just to be 100% sure his breath wouldnât have smelled if you tried to kiss him.
dinner was wonderful. he took you to the restaurant where you had your first date and multiple others followed. he knew how much you liked the food there.
you kept smiling and laughing at his jokes from across the table the whole time, and satoru managed to show off his usual smug demeanor, hiding the fact that he kept checking his right pocket every ten minutes to make sure that the ring was still there and hadnât magically vanished.
he was unusually quiet during the walk to rikugien garden. and much to his great displeasure, you noticed it. his hand was sweaty against yours, he kept fixing the collar of his dress shirt and his gaze was always directed away from you.
âeverythingâs alright, âtoru?â you asked, giving his hand a soft squeeze.
he was fucked.
âyeahâi justâŚâ he cleared his throat âjust thinking about something that happened at school todayâ. he didnât know how to cover himself.
âwhat it is about? you know iâm always here for youâ you grabbed the side of his face, turning it gently towards you and giving him a reassuring smile. letting out a nervous laugh, he replied âitâs not important, donât worryâ. thankfully, it was enough to make you switch topics.
you both eventually reached rikugien garden, and satoru found himself getting hypnotized by your reaction at the beautiful atmosphere and nature. your eyes glimmered under the lights everytime you looked up, your smile shone now more than ever.
your steps came to an halt when you reached a bridge, looking out from it to admire how the light reflected on the river underneath. it was beautiful.
satoru knew it was the right moment.
he felt ready, even though his mind suddenly wiped off half of the romantic and emotional speech he had been learning with yuji for a whole week out of his memory. fuck.
âthe view is niceâ he said, wrapping an arm around your waist âisnât it, love?â. he was trying his best to sound as natural as possible.
âitâs amazingâ you smiled to him, resting your head on his shoulder âthanks for taking me hereâ
âwe should come here more oftenâ you added.
âiâll take you here every time youâll ask me to,â he tightened the grip around you âeven in five, ten, or twenty years from now. even when weâll be both old and grumpy and barely being able to walkâ
you snorted at that sentence, your soft giggles filling the air and giving him some relief from his nervousness.
âeven when weâll have three hyperactive kids to take care ofâ
âwait, what?â you immediately cut him off, raising a brow. satoru firmly believed his heart stopped beating for a second.
âshitâtoo much? then only two hyperactive kidsâ
âletâs just say none for the moment, âtoruâ you chuckled.
he took a deep, defeating breath. redirecting his gaze back to the water in front of you, he started speaking again.
âthe truth is, i canât imagine a future where youâre not in itâ he admitted, the words running out of his mouth easier now.
you blinked, turning to him.
âmeeting you was the best thing that has ever happened in my life,â he didnât dare to look at you ââŚafter discovering kikufuku mochi for the first time, of courseâ
you laughed, really laughed. the kind of laugh that made him weak.
âno one has ever managed to make me feel so madly in love with someone the way you do. the whole world just stops spinning when i have you by my sideâ
you could feel your eyes starting to water. satoru has always been the type of guy to compliment you countless times in the span of 5 minutes, but this was on another level.
he finally glanced at you. his thumb lifted to your cheek, caressing it gently. then he leaned closer until his lips pressed a careful kiss on yours, afraid youâd might break if he was too rough with it.
his free hand eventually reached his pocket, adverting your eyes following its movements. when he lowered down to one knee, thatâs when your tears began to flow freely down your face.
he cleared his throat, hands trembling slightly. âi know this might seem like a hasty decision, butââ
the velvet box opened. his eyes remained locked onto yours.
ây/n, will you marry me?â
you stayed silent. your heart was racing and no words could come out of your mouth to describe your feelings in that moment. satoruâs nervously waited, eyes inspecting your whole face for a hint of the answer.
then your head moved in a tiny nod. another one followed, more certain, then another one until your head didnât stop moving and a bright smile appeared on you.
satoruâs face immediately lit up âis that a yes?â he asked excitedly, and when you responded with another nod he jumped in joy and lifted you up effortlessly.
he started spinning you around, happiness finally flowing through his veins. you were gripping onto him and giggling, before you grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him lovingly.
but before he could shove the ring back into his pocket and kiss you back, the box flew from his grasp.
you both froze, watching the ring whirl to the end of the bridge and fall into the river with a soft plop!
satoru wanted to die on the spot. he couldnât believe what the fuck had just happened.
âdonât worry, âtoruâ you shifted his attention back to you âwe can buy another oneâ giving him a peck on the cheekbone.
that one time training session with satoru didnât go wellâŚ
𣲠fluff, slightly suggestive (?)
rays of sunshine crept through the clouds in tokyo, illuminating the roofs of jujutsu high in that hot summer morning.
it was training day. in less than two weeks a new mission would have been assigned to the each of you, and principal yaga believed that some of you werenât ready to handle it.
he gathered you all in the training field.
âno special moves, no cursed energy, no weapons. youâll be put in pairs in a hand-to-hand combatâ he looked down at the young students in front of him.
âyouâll have 10 minutes to try to pin down your opponentâ he continued, but immediately stopped when he noticed the white haired boy holding his hand up with a grin plastered on his face. âno gojo, you canât use your infinityâ he pouted and lowered his hand after that.
a part of you wanted to turn to him and start laughing, but your happiness faded away when yaga paired him with you.
your relationship with satoru wasâŚhard to explain. you were 100% sure the only reason heâd woke up in the morning was to annoy you to the point youâd throw hands at him. he would blush and smile like the teenage boy he was in his bed at night when heâd think about how cute you looked when mad at him. he couldnât help it, he was madly in love with you.
and you would rather die than admit it, but your heart would start fluttering at every tease of his, at every compliment that would come out of his pretty mouth or at every smile that he would give you.
he was your prototype of a guy: stupidly tall, attractive, funnyâŚbut way too childish for your own taste. you always limited yourself to rolling your eyes and ignoring him, you would have never given him the satisfaction of his little games.
âyou ready, pretty?â he said as soon as you both reached the center of the field.
you turned at him. his sunglasses were still on, you could tell he hadnât brushed his hair that morning by how messy they looked, and the bastard was already smirking right in front of your face.
âdonât call me that, gojoâ you replied, putting your hair up in a bun to get ready for the fight.
he whined âyou even stopped using my first name now?â he looked defeated, but you didnât dare to miss the twitch of the corner of his mouth.
after making sure your hair was slicked back tightly you took a few steps back, settling into a defensive stance and clenching your fists. your eyes were locked into satoruâs, your mind already set on were to land your first punch. he mimicked your pose, a smug expression on his face. he was enjoying this way too much, you just wanted to get this done as quickly as possible without getting hurt.
you looked at him, really looked at him. âthe strongest student in jujutsu highâ as he liked to call himself. but without his infinity and cursed energy, he was nothing but an opponent you could easily put down.
you made the first move, loading your fist and throwing it towards the side of his face with all your strength. he dodged it effortlessly, smirking at you.
you gritted your teeth, blood boiling in your veins. the bastard had the courage to act like that even in such a serious situation. you tried to hit again, on his right arm this time, but he ducked it another time.
âgod, gojo, just let me hit youâ you huffed out, frowning at him. he scoffed âyou think iâll give up this easily?â
after that he leaned forward, delivering a side kick to your waist. you stumbled and groaned at the impact, but quickly regaining your balance. it was no useful, unfortunately, because satoru had already took advantage of your inattention and shifted behind you, putting you in a headlock.
your eyes widened at the feeling. he wasnât chocking you too hard to leave you out of breath, but enough to make you start panicking. you suddenly realized that youâve never been this close to him before: from this position you could feel the faint outline of his muscles from underneath his uniform, the few strands of his hair tickling your nape, his hot breath on the back of your ear. god
âget off me!â you stammered, your hands desperately gripping at his forearm to escape his grasp. he giggled and leaned over, whispering in your ear âiâm barely doing anything, sweets, are you this weak?â
you had enough of him. groaning loudly you aimed at his stomach with your elbow, making him step back and free his hold on you. âow! that hurtâŚâ he murmured in pain, frowning at you while you tried to regain some breath.
without hesitation, you threw yourself at him with your shoulder. you both fell on the ground, your body pressing him down as he grunted for the second time and his glasses flew off his face. moving quickly, you crawled on him and locked your knees on either side of his torso, making sure he wouldnât have turned you over.
you grabbed his hands, and managed to pin them down with all your strength. âfinallyâ you thought. you won the fight, but the best part was knowing that satoru had lost against his own pride. a tired smile crept on your face.
but then your eyes shifted on him.
his whole face was painted with a crimson blush, his blue bright eyes wide opened as he stared astonishingly at you. he gulped hard, and only then you realized.
you were basically straddling him at this point, fully sitting on his lower belly. your hands were gripping at his wrists strongly, the adrenaline of the fight still flowing through your body. you were panting, chest moving up and down heavily and your forehead covered in a thin layer of sweat.
when you glanced back at him, you noticed his gaze locked on your covered breast.
âgojo!â you gasped, your cheeks suddenly burning unbelievably hot as you freed your grip on his wrists.
âwhatâŚ?â he acted like he hadnât done anything wrong.
you landed a slap on his cheek, his head lolling to the side by the impact. he groaned, but it seemed like he enjoyed it.
âfuck, baby, do it againâ
âew! youâre a freak!â you whined, leaning back and fighting the urge to punch him right on the nose. you couldnât deny that his words werenât making butterflies flutter in your stomach, or your hands sweat against your uniformâŚor some other type of thoughts grow in your mind.
âiâm sorry, youâre justâwowâ he choked out, expression still astounded. his hands twitched against the side of his head, he needed to touch you so bad. on what other occasion would he have had you like this?
âwow?â you repeated.
âyeah, youâreâŚbeautifulâ
he really meant that, you could tell it by the way the tone of his voice had gone softer, more hesitant. you were frozen, you were used to satoruâs teasing but this was on another level.
noticing your silence, he continued âiâve been trying to build up the courage to tell you that for quite a long timeâ
his hands lifted from the ground and he moved them closer to your waist, slowly, to test your reaction. but when you didnât throw another painful slap on him, he settled them fully on your body.
his touch felt like fire against your uniform, your brain had gone short-circuited. the fight shouldnât have ended this way, you were not supposed to be that effected by his words.
he opened his mouth to speak but was suddenly cut off by principal yagaâs voice announcing every student that the 10 minutes timer had gone off. you jumped out of your unconsciousness, immediately realizing the whole situation and giving satoruâs a final slap.
âdo that shit again and iâll kill youâ you threatened, finger pointing at his face. you eventually sat up and started walking away.
âi wish you wouldâ he whispered, still laying on the ground.
