Idk if this is a hot take but I feel like the byler fandom has rlly changed from how it used to be after the influx of lawless byler after the finale.

And yeah it could js b bc the show is over and we don’t rlly have anything to theorize anymore (unless u believe in CG) but I don’t feel the same passion I once did for byler and it makes me feel realy sad tbh bc so much of the ship has changed for how it once was (for me).

I’ll always think that the s4-vol1 era was the best time in the byler fandom (especially post vol1 pre vol2) and I’ll always miss it.

Also wanna clarify I don’t think that lawless byler had “ruined” the fandom but I think a lot of the new discourse has been a side effect of byler becoming lawless. Additionally, I don’t read or enjoy smut so I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of content and stuff in the fandom tbh (e.g. ttmd;ttms)

Altho there are a few byler fics that I’m still reading currently so it’s not all bad, as well as the amazing artists in the fandom who keep creating despite everything

And this can be applied to ships and bl/gl in general it feels so weird to me and it’s like the characters aren’t allowed to have a sexuality outside their love interest (if that makes any sense)
