The final exhibition will [probably] look like this, plus shelf with the booklets...
more pictures HERE. I'm really happy with these. They will go [on a shelf] on display at the final exhibition in May
Round-Up
And so, after creating and gathering all the bits I felt best represented a scientific investigation, it was decided that the best and most appropriate way of presenting all this was in little booklets, printed on graph paper and fastened with these:
Pictures to follow...
I also created some graphs/data screen grabs/other stuff to go with each test, which can again be seen in full HERE
I black+whited the images, all of which can be seen in their respective test sets HERE. I rather like these.
Made these on photoshop to the tune of Marleys and every episode of Spaced. There are four. They are here: FMP: The Finals
I created four spoof experiments for the 'investigation'. For each I created a write-up, images, graphs/data images and experiment diagrams. Here's the write-up of Test One. And yes, they are all as, if not more, ridiculous than this one...Although some people believed it in its entirety. Hehe.
Formerly a Centon K100 film SLR, this will now make up the components of my 'experiments'...
Tutorial
Feedback on these initial tests identify the problem that the 'equipment' used [phones, cables, paper...] is too obviously home-made, and a little more technical-looking stuff would work better and help suspend disbelief a tad more. So Matt gave me a present...
fifth test - Experiment Five: Wind Patterns
'Yet again no obvious correlation; where are we going wrong? Could be a number of things - human error, computer software failure, equipment malfunction.'
fourth test - Experiment Four: Rain Drops
'Using the Random Occurrence Grid from experiment two and geomapping randomisation computer software...'
third test - Experiment Three: Water Drops
'...measures the width, length, circumference and density of a water drop, as well as its Dentilitre value...'
second test - Experiment Two: Paint Spatters
'Testing the apparently random nature of a 'paint spatter' and tracing any possible patterns or themes.'
first test - Experiment One: Water Molecules.
'Review: Test results reveal a clear progression in molecular presence as time passes. At each 0.2 second interval, results continued to draw closer to a specific value with repeat testings; perhaps this could lead to some sort of proof of a pattern? Most notable correlation after 2 seconds, ever moving closer towards the value of 10 Radohms. Must test more to further explore possible emergence of pattern.'
Mini Statement of Intent
A SPOOF DOCUMENTARY OF 'CAPTURING CHAOS'.
Showing how i measured, recorded and interpreted data from experiments looking into proving the chaotic nature of the universe, with an underlying comment on the unknowable scale of the the concept and its unreachability...
"Examining the truthfulness of photography"
His FAUNA and SPUTNIK projects have inspired and humoured massively...
