Thoughts about the Taylor Swift docuseries so far...that no one asked for but I feel compelled to say. First of all, the beauty of this show is how she really spotlights everyone else. The band, the dancers, the crew...the lives of the people who ride into battle with her. To me that is beautiful. She doesnt have to be like that. We all have seen plenty of people raised well who are not nice and considerate. She is all those things. Secondly, the bonuses. A woman or man of such wealth doesnt typically remember those who help them fly. She is truly showing others "hey you have more than enough money to shower those around you and build them up. Fucking do it" she gives to the truck drivers, the stage crew the dancers life changing money. She gives them the ability to breathe! To be able to enjoy the dream job without guilt. 3rd - shes so badass. She works her ass off to make that show special. Meaningful. Prior to Eras Tour the only other artist I knew of doing 3 1/2 hours was Bruce Springsteen. I've seen Bruce live and I see what he gives to the fans and its a special experience you see once in a lifetime. So watching her final show, and knowing all the work she did....its equally as impressive. My sister was lucky enough to see her live and she said she cried more than once and she is a grown ass woman. Had I been there...I would have done the same. Lastly, the new album. I love it for a lot of reasons. Yes I know its not the mystical meloncholy of folklore but thats okay. This album is pure joy and love mixed with reflection on where shes been. The ties she had to cut, the betrayals, and some heartbreak that she survived like a champ. Also, if u are a woman who has survived divorce, this album hits on another level. Losing friends you trusted. Rebuilding your life. Then, later on seeing long time friends whither away when u thought they'd be there forever...its seasons of change. In the end, I know I don't "know" her. But im happy she is happy. Im happy she is comfortable and has found a man who matches her comfort with bright lights. She may be a stranger to me, but I feel close to her via her music. Just like I do with Springsteen, the black crows, Brandi carlile, counting crows, Kacey Musgraves, the avett brothers, and the list goes on. Joy. They all bring joy to my life. So yeah Taylor, I would definitely ride into battle with you if the call was made. ❤️
