âObviously but I only knew he gave me the wrong drink after tasting it.â
âThatâs, um... thatâs too bad, then?â
I literally can not be interested in something âjust a little bitâ, it either consumes my entire being or I donât care at all. But thereâs no in between, and I donât think Iâll ever learn to pick grey when asked to decide between black and white.
(via gentleincision)
âI guess that depends on your definition of fun. Not the party type? What type are you then?â
âThe type that cooks. And watches after kids. So... a mother without any children, maybe?â
âItâs the drink that the bartender gave me.â
âCanât you ask him to give you something else?â
Text; wrong number
Jessie: Did not mean to send that to you.
Jessie: She's got the flu and I feel like a bad sister leaving her home with a sitter.
Cora: Haha, I figured.
Cora: You're not a bad sister.
Cora: I can stop by and check on her if you want.
âI understand the orders, but the recopies â wouldnât there be like a binder or something for you to always look at? Wouldnât it be impossible to remember twenty plus items to cook? That would be insane. Oh no, the numbers â I donât get why people would want to deal with numbers. It would be my dreams in high school, Math haunted me.âÂ
âProbably. Maybe? I donât know. But it would save a lot of time if the most common things, you could remember how to make. And the cooking temperatures and all of that. Iâd rather rely on my own knowledge than any book, you know? --- Iâm weird. Tell me about it. Math is the worst subject, and Iâm not sure anyone fully understands it when you get into algebra and all of that, there are just people who are better at guessing than some.â
âI donât blame it. Itâs probably overheating during the day and itâs just ready to give up. Iâm surprised you arenât turned into a zombie during the day.â
âItâs okay, though, if I ever want to work in a restaurant, I have to keep my memory as sharp as I can. Otherwise, Iâll never be able to remember orders and recipes. It could be worse, though. Can you imagine being one of those people who process numbers or something like that? I would go insane just having to remember all of that. It would just all blend together in my mind. They would be everywhere, numbers popping up in your dreams... no, that would be crazy... terrible.â
âAlright alrightâstop.â She said, shaking her head. âThat just makes me really hungry and my mouth water.â She laughed.
âI figured. Do you see why I always have to keep food next to me when Iâm looking over things and studying? If not, I stay hungry.â

claire: I've made the mistake of eating dairy, and now I'm sick.
claire: send help I'm dying
cora: have you tried eating something plain? like crackers, maybe, or toast without butter or jelly.
cora: it might calm your stomach down, but even if it doesn't do anything, it shouldn't hurt to try.
âI donât care what kind it is.â
âOkay. So the first recipe is, rosemary crusted lamb chops. Ingredients, one pound of lamb chops. Two tablespoons of minced fresh rosemary, two teaspoons of salt. One teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, one garlic clove, minced. Four tablespoons of olive oil, divided. In a small bowl, mix the rosemary, salt, pepper, garlic and two tablespoons of olive oil together. Coat the lamb chops with the mixture, massaging it into the meat. If you are working with double rib chops, cover and let stand at room temperature for thirty to forty five minutes. --- Youâre bored, arenât you?â
Are you kidding me! this is a brand new shirt.
Are you just stating a fact, or--?
No im sorry we dont sell Pumpkin Spice doughnuts.. Why would we.
Because theyâre delicious.
âI donât know if people would call that a party trick but it would be interesting nevertheless.â
âYeah, Iâm not exactly the party type, but I think I know enough to know that burning down the building would probably take away from the fun.â
âHow are you able to sleep at night with all of that in your head?â
âSleep is for weaklings.â After a second, Cora laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. âNo, I manage. Having so much in your head is exhausting. I think by the time night comes, my brain decides to shut down on me.â
âThis tastes horrible.â
âThen why drink it?â
âWhat are we waiting for..come on.â
âWay ahead of you, pal.â
