L with Pocky for @anime-games-and-trash
The fuck you mean L died? He clearly faked his death and became a host in the 2nd movie about his fucking successors.
Tbh when I watched this for the first time and he mentioned about the air-con thing I whispered “holy fuck” because I actually didn’t expect for him to say that, and the more accurate thing is that the weather from where I live is actually warm af
There are… many types of monsters in this world: Monsters who will not show themselves and who cause trouble; monsters who abduct children; monsters who devour dreams; monsters who suck blood, and… monsters who always tell lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance. They are much more cunning than other monsters. They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart. They eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger. They study even though they have no interest in academics. They seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such a monster, I would likely be eaten by it. Because in truth, I am that monster.
It’s not just the notebook I’m after. I wanna eliminate my competition. I will be the best. I don’t care what it takes. I’ll beat Near by any means necessary.
Death Note Vol. 7 Podcast: Wow, This Isn’t What I Signed Up For
Hey Everyone!
Episode 7 of I’ll Take a Death Note and Read It, a podcast where I overread into Death Note, is up! This episode covers the seventh volume of the manga, which is probably the turning point of the series.
You can check it out on iTunes, Soundcloud, or directly where the podcast is hosted. I also have a handy masterpost that has links to episodes 1–6—may be a good place to start if you’re new to the project!
We’ll discuss L’s death and the impact it has on the series: how the plot becomes more and more expansive to compensate for the loss of the L vs. Light storyline, the odd timing of L’s death, what we know about L—and what questions are still left unanswered.
We’ll also get introduced to Mello and Near, the two successors that take over for L. We’ll discuss Mello and Near as active versus static characters and we’ll see them learn about L’s death, a scene that leads to a moment of transgression for Mello and is a pivotal point of agency for both of them.
Throughout the remainder of the story, we’re gonna try to reconcile the following: Does the series ever fully recover? What momentum is lost here? How successful is the book at at transferring the battle over to L’s heirs in a way that keeps the reader engaged? We’ll continue to keep these in mind as we head into volume 8 next.
Thanks so much <3
Just finished listening; another great episode! This podcast is killer (if you’ll pardon the bad pun). 👌
YAY thank you so much!!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed. Loved making this episode, what a great volume. Thank you so much for listening!
I redrew a bunch of Ls from the manga (gotta learn from the masters, yo’), but this is the only one I actually liked.
Here you go.

I didn’t really like Misa tbh but Rem’s devotion to her was beautiful.
Being in the Death Note fandom: Hey remember that one FBI agent in the spinoff novel who was only mentioned for one line and then never again, he was called Fridge. Well here’s my headcanons about him
