We’re back for another interview this week! I apologize for the wait (I’ve been sick the last couple of weeks). We return with illustrator and artist @prinnay, and we talk about her inspiration for her works.
—————————-
mrcontro: Your works are truly amazing Prinnay, a true wonder to behold! I noticed that you continue to expand your use of your color palettes as you continue to paint and illustrate. What is your thought process when it comes to choosing your colors?
prinnay: My colors? That’s always a hard question for me for some reason? I can’t really explain why I use some palettes, other than saying it looks cool in my head so I’ll try it onscreen. Or I see it in real life somewhere and want to draw a picture using those colors. Sorry, there’s not very much meaningful rhyme or reason D:
mrcontro: No apologies at all. Sometimes going with the flow creates amazing and great results, as we see in your art. :)
mrcontro: Though you may feel after the direction for the coloring, would you say you have a set idea for the composition’s direction?
prinnay: Yes, the idea is usually set in stone in the sketch stage and doesn’t change much when coloring it. I am usually dead set on that idea from the very beginning c:
mrcontro: There are many positive themes in your illustrations, both the characters and the worlds they are interacting with. What is your message or the message you want people to see when they see your work?
prinnay: Hmm… Really I like to draw happier things and want viewers to be happy too. Or really, be happy and inspired :D
mrcontro: I believe you already inspiring your viewers and other artists GB! :) I really do believe that.
mrcontro: As artists are continuing to grow and mature in their craft, what advice would you give to others once audiences start to pay attention more to your work? How do you continue to provide work, but still keep it fun for yourself?
prinnay: If it inspires you to draw, then please by all means draw. It’s never too early or too late to learn and hone. I really hope I’m giving off the inspiration and will to draw and for others to create something for themselves.
prinnay: I continue to draw because it’s what I want to do fulltime some day and it never gets old. It’s a giant stress reliever and I honestly don’t know what I would do with my time/hobby/career if I didn’t. Art is so unlimited. I’m constantly baffled (and a little jealous) of all the amazing things people create, and some day I want to get to a creative point that they are.

We’ll have another interview soon, we’ll see you then! :)
