In my 4-5 years as a hitchhiker I have noticed that the best way to know other person is to hitchhike with them. Like in this instance I spend 53 hours straight with a person I've only met once before and that 53 hours involve: 8 hours of sleep (didn't make us want to kill each other;) around 30 hours of speaking to a bunch of different strangers; less than 5km of walking; waaaaay too much caffeine and less than an 10 hours waiting for a lift. We did good, we actually did SURPRISINGLY good. I think for a tubby nerd with piercings, jail-like tattoo and a massive problem of wearing black in +20 degrees of heat my cutesy team mate was perfect partner for me. What was the most surprising fact about my partner was that she had the same thirst for a competition like me. We both knew what we need to avoid and what is the most optimal thing for us: and it was fun as hell. About the trip itself: I think we couldn't do any better. Our longest wait time was 2 hours with the average of being around 20 minutes. We slept just enough for our brains to have a time out and we avoided being dropped inside the cities (like mentioned before: we walked less than 5km during the whole weekend.) I also managed to see parts of Finland that I have never seen before and got the idea of buying a bike and going north with it later this summer; I still have more Finland to see. I need to stop my blabbering so I have something to say when the teams meet up next time (We didn't meet anyone on the road after we left Helsinki ;_;) See you guys in the upcoming days :) -Kim
