Well now this was going to be awkward… she obviously didn’t know who he was, and he was pretending to have just met her- what kind of slip up was that? As he noticed he said that out loud, his eyes widened visibly as he tried to come up with a way to fix his words, undo the confusion… somehow.

“W-what? You used to say? I- I meant that… oh my god I don’t even know what I’m saying! That happens all the time you really have no idea-“

That was very obviously a lie. He took such care with words, not a single one was ever accidental, even when they were more than average in quantity. Not that she’d know that if she didn’t remember him…

But he had to have an alibi, or something… otherwise how could he explain what he meant without sounding completely insane?

“I mean, that’s something people do tell me a lot. If I get carried away with words people always find polite… or not so polite ways to shut me up-“

He couldn’t help but laugh a bit at that. If only Eliza remembered the many times she’d had to stop him from talking himself to death…

Though she can’t help but think maybe they’ve crossed paths before, she doesn’t know him. Brows raise at his demeanour, and crosses her arms over her chest, giving him a once over. Her cheeks immediately flush at the mention of trying to shut him up and she shakes her head.

“No, that isn’t - I wasn’t trying to get you to shut up, you’re actually pretty interesting to listen to. Sorry, I probably sounded totally rude.” 

She stumbles over her words, though not from embarrassment but rather from his near presence. He’s charming, and she feels drawn to this man even though she mentally is questioning herself on why. 

“ I just meant... I appreciate when the world around me is quiet. I grew up in the city, surrounded by noise and expectations of who I am and it’s nice to... escape that for a bit, you know?”

She smiles at him, her expression turning thoughtful for a second.

"I'll gladly listen to you talk, I’m sure you have wonderful things to say. You seem like the type of person who has a brilliant mind.”

“ no, quiet doesn’t really seem your strong point. “ eliza smiles slightly though her expression falls. she believed in speaking your mind and standing up for what was right, but she also felt a person had to know when to stand down, when to say ‘enough’.

“did i?” she hesitates, trying to find the words. he’s so familiar, and eliza feels as though she knows him in her heart, but she knows that logically she doesn’t. thankfully, she always tends to let her heart guide her and that’s why she doesn’t shoot his notions down too quickly. “what else did i used to say, alex?”

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Iniko asked the person next to them. Their mom had always told them to appreciate the beauty in all things and Iniko tried to live by those words. 

 she smiles, admiring the object in question before she looks back up at them. “it really is, i think everything is beautiful in some way.” natasha was a romantic at heart, always eager to find good in the world and happy to seek beauty if anything she could.

who is natasha? natasha is one of the prominent characters in leo tolstoy’s novel ‘war & peace’. i draw most of my natasha influence from the book, but am also familiar with the tv series (both 2007 and 2016) and the musical natasha, pierre and the great comet of 1812. natasha in the ultimate ingenue; she is naive and romantic, and full og life and youth. she is kind, naive, and grows from a child into a woman during the course of a book.

how long has she been here? natasha has been here for two weeks, though it seems to her as she’s been here forever.

what is her job? natasha is presently unemployed; her family is wealthy and she isn’t sure what she wants to do with her life so she is currently trying to figure that out. she believes she’d like to be a muiscian in some shape or form.

where in canon was she pulled from? before book 8, when she is engaged and before the rostov’s travel to moscow. essentially at the happiest point of her life before the end of the novel

has any magic affected her? she doesn’t remember anything though she has super weird dreams of ballrooms and dancing but hey, eveyr little girl dreams of being a pirncess, right?

who is eliza? eliza is described in the musical as ‘trusting & kind’ and that’s an apt description. she is compassionate, and loves everyone unless they give her reason no to trust them. she goes out of her way to help others, and is selfless. her own sorrow would readily be placed aside to ensure someone else’s happiness. she loves life and appreciates how lucky she is to be alive right now.

how long has she been here? eliza has been in washington for about a month, give or take. however, she thinks she’s lived here her entire life, and it’s all she knows!

what is her job? eliza has a kind, compassionate heart and her job as a kindergarten teacher puts that heart to good use. she loves all her students as though they were her own children.

where in canon was she pulled from? i have taken eliza from the end of act 1! so before everything goes down the drain in act two, her happiest moments of her life are after the birht of her son.

has any magic affected her? oh yeah! she thinsk she’s from the 21st century, born & raised in washington. she remembers nothing of her former life, nothing of her family or the legacy she works to preserve.
