I just finished listening to The Bifrost Incident by The Mechanisms

the music was phenomenal, the story a mix of entrancing and horrifyingly astonishing. I thought it was merely a retelling of Norse Myth; I was oh so wrong.

I would definitely recommend this AFTER a short debrief to anyone that the ending is pure cosmic lovecraftian horror. Definitely explaining this as a ‘The Posthuman War but somehow the in universe ending is somehow worse..and also add in even more lovecraftian horrors to the story’

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS JUMPSCARE POST!! SPOILERS FOR EP9

my god I just realized how much I relate to Jax and Ribbit so much

Ribbit being raised in a devout religious family but not believing the same thing (and some other things she said that I can’t remember rn), I absolutely relate to that. so much.

^ little background, I was raised in a christian family (ironic enough I made my parents religious. I think it’s at least a little funny sometimes), but since going to college I started exploring more into what religion I resonated with and SPOILER ALERT, i don’t believe the same religion anymore.(I’m actually a practicing pagan now!) and I will take that secret to my fucking GRAVE forever and ever.

FUCKING JAX?? Thinking that it would be ok to come out but it going horribly wrong (ok neither of my coming out experiences ended in ridicule but it was ABSOLUTELY not support let me tell you that), OG MY GOD DUDE. Honestly when I first came out, my toxic middle school friend group peer pressured me into having my first crush, came out as Bi to my parents and. oh boy we don’t have time to unpack ALL that. ~4-5 years later came out to my mom as aro/ace and. somehow that went even worse than the first one???? That shit was fucked all the way up, to this day I don’t reference a fucking thing about that day. and she doesn’t either. and that’s how I’d like to keep it.

Anyways now that I realize I’m genderfluid or some sort of entity under the trans umbrella I am NEVER coming out, taking this shit to my grave bro never telling my parents.

Where was I going with this? oh yeah Jax and Ribbit, I relate to them very much 👍

(not going into it right now but obviously this isn’t me saying how Jax acted is in any way right, not one of those Jax defenders. definitely a Jax understander though if that makes sense. His(/her?) actions make sense being the environment and behaviors around him, but he(/she?) was still a fucking dick to people and that’s not ok, so yeah that’s my brief take on it)

I'm ngl I'm really unhappy with the early theater release thing for TADC EP9

So... fuck the parts of the fanbase that aren't in america and japan, good luck avoiding spoilers for 2 whole weeks with a fandom this large and notoriously reckless about keeping spoilers properly tagged?

What were they thinking?

NOTE: I'M UPSET ABOUT THIS BEING 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. THAT'S TOO LONG OF A TIMEFRAME DURING WHICH TO DODGE SPOILERS WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE IT IN CINEMAS FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. Especially in this fucking fandom!

The movie is being shown in: the US, Canada, Mexico; Argentina (where I live, already bought my tickets), Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru; Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru; and Japan.

Yes, it sucks if you're in Europe, Africa and the rest of Asia. But it's still being shown in far more countries even I expected it to, and it's still possible it will eventually come to your local theaters. If it doesn't... you'll just watch it for free. On Youtube. Yes, it'll be two weeks later and you will have to avoid spoilers in the meantime, but it's not the end of the world. It's definitely not worth disparaging the fact that this is getting a theatrical release in the first place. The only show I know that managed to do that was Doctor Who with its 50th anniversary special back in 2012.

Rather than cry about how unfair it is that we'll have to wait two whole weeks to watch the end of a show we were already watching for free, why don't we celebrate the fact that an independent animated series gets the chance to show its finale on the big screen, even if just for a limited release? This, in my opinion, is a milestone for web animation.

I don't know, maybe I just like going to the movies too much. I haven't been to a movie theater in way too long because of how expensive it is, this is the first film that has seemed worth the cost.

God fucking forbid I'm grieving having to either give up entering anywhere on the whole fucking internet for 2 UNREASONABLY LONG WEEKS because this horseshit fandom can't keep their fucking yaps shut and NEVER TAGS SPOILERS - OR choose to have one of the biggest, most impactful indie animation releases of my life completely fucking ruined for me because I'm not fucking able to go to one of these early showings

I WANT TO BE HAPPY FOR GLITCH, BUT AS A EUROPEAN FAN, WHOSE BEGGING TO LOCAL THEATERS WILL ABSOLUTELY FALL ON DEAF EARS, I AM UPSET ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND I HAVE A RIGHT TO FEEL THAT WAY AND EXPRESS AS MUCH.

Yes this is a milestone worth celebrating! But I'm still fucking mourning the fact that I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE IT!!! Allow people be upset about an unfair fucking situation that personally affects them in an emotionally meaningful way, goddamn!!!

EXACTLY I do not blame you at all @chubs-deuce two weeks is an UNGODLY amount of time for spoilers to spread especially considering the fandom has a bad history with spoilers. Even if it was one week, or a DAY major spoilers would be leaked the instant people left the theaters. It’s insane.

Even if it’s showing in theaters in multiple places, that just means it’s showing. It’s there. That’s not even considering how many people CAN go and see it, there may be issues with transportation or people not having it in their budget to go and see it. You can clearly tell who is planning to see it in theaters and who is able to go in this situation.

Soooo yesterday I watched the trailer for episode 9 of The Amazing Digital Circus and, 10/10 really excited to see how this series will end. I have had zero theories since episode 8, after that it was just if they escaped the circus or not. BUT that’s not what this is about, this post is about the theatrical release.

I understand the accomplishment of Glitch Productions getting a theatrical release for one of the shows they produce. but. SHOWS do not do well at all as theatrical releases. There are many indie creators out there and short films that would LOVE for their stuff to get a theatrical release, Glitch should have picked one of those up and kept ep9s release on youtube. On top of that, episode 9 is going to be released 2 weeks before it comes out on youtube. With anything in theatre’s, people find a way to watch it for free. Especially the tadc fandom. For the people who can’t watch it in theaters? They now have to avoid the internet almost completely in case of spoilers.

I’m glad that Glitch is becoming bigger, and i’m glad they’ve been getting deal from Netflix and theater releases but. Pick a different thing that you’re producing. Not the last two episodes of a show.

Spoilers for the Puppetshades 5: The Bleeding Stars!!

TPC5 review pt1 (quick commentary)

The first minute was total chaos, I wasn’t really expecting the Narrators mom to be Han Mi but it fits so well!!

Skyler 3: me too blinky..or skyler, me too

but also, this means that Skyler wants Jenna PERMA dead; which it was smart to have someone else do it for him, because then I think by proxy he might also be envoking the wrath of Piper Oki and Cindi..and L3x and Jes (because only Jes gets to kill Jenna) and all of Yery’s pirate crew.. there’s probably more

Anyways! I find it interesting that Lon didn’t react here, maybe because she didn’t hear this or, she didn’t have time to react and just didn’t say anything because the Narrative also wants Jenna dead.

Vir having buried feelings for Rainu was not something I was expecting, neither was Rainu killing Vir

YERYS BACK YAYYY, also Cery is most definitely going to come back wrong or there will be some catch.

Jenna is the cyborg cindi was talking about!! Very excited for that, at first I thought the woman in the tunnels might be Han but now I’m thinking that it’s someone from the Albino tribe. I’m hoping Jenna will snap and finally get to murder people, she deserves it 🫶 (though knowing Jenna she’s having immense guilt after maybe)

Astrid is my officially my favorite character now. I love her story, and do relate to her with the eye condition (I was so excited when I heard that terminology specifically)

Oh! Last thing before I go I am so worried about Piper, I don’t think Paul will do it but I am so worried that somehow Sarah will show up. Though with the exception of Lloyd I don’t think Paul will bring back Posthuman characters with the same voices as the puppetshade characters… that being said Vir is dead so Asha could come back!! yay!!!

The instant I heard the word mother the McKiggan alarm started blaring in my head. I don't think anyone in the shaperaverse can use that word anymore without me ears perking up.

I really hope Jenna sticks to her non-violence. I get the catharsis it would bring, but she I so desperately trying for a world were such violence isn't needed, and I want so dearly for her to see that.

I can't wait to see the horror of Cery. Yery breakdown 2: Necromantic boogaloo incoming.

same here! The second I heard trapped and mother in the same sentence that is immediately what my brain went to.

Also yeah, at the same time I mostly want Jenna to have that moment but also exactly what you’re saying about Jenna hoping that she won’t have to hurt anymore (I think both about her and having to hurt others) and how she is very ‘violence as the LAST last possible resort if not at all’

I absolutely love her for it and I do hope she doesn’t have to hurt or hurt anyone anymore but, Jenna sweetheart I am so sorry you’re in a Paul Shapera album, it’s going to happen unfortunately 😔.

Bunker 23

Jes and Jenna were that one freshman couple that was really cute and wholesome until they broke up. No one really knows what happened but Jenna can’t even look at Jes now.

Jes did not receive any scholarships and her parents payed for everything. She is the obnoxious rich girl on campus who is genuinely appalled at people who aren’t financially well off.

Crimson Rose is everyone’s best friend, everyone says she’s the nicest person they’ve ever met. She and Jenna are roommates.

Cery and Yery are also roommates. They’re both different majors but you never see one without the other, people know what their schedules are and how different they are to each other but. They’re always together. somehow.

AAAGHHH YES YES. If I may add some thoughts (not just bunker 23 but. Close enough):

Oki took English just for a class on goth lit a year or two in. Skyler originally took math but switched major after (a mental breakdown) a year.

Cobalt rose is crimsons older sister. They have the same schedule. They swap places often.

Yery originally roommates with someone else but Cery Showed Up and after a "Brief exchange" she and Yery became roommates.

That someone else was Rainu. Rainu and Mir are in the Messiest Situationship. Rainus bug fursona got exposed to everyone by Vir once. Mir was the one who told her about it. Vir really mean TA.

Jenna sitting in the library. Jes enters the library. Jenna switches her puter off without saving her work and leaves. Jes also switched classes after The Incident TM. It scared everyone.

Skyler's imaginary friends cheat off of others' papers during tests for him.
