I have a checkered track record when it comes to knitting socks. These are only the second pair I’ve finished. My other sock attempts went as follows: 1) made half a sock in worsted yarn before stopping because I wasn’t sure I’d actually wear a sock that heavy; 2) a sock I started that was coming out way too big; 3) a pair of ankle-length socks I actually finished, to prove to myself that I could; 4) one finished sock without a mate.

But I finished these, and it helped that I really liked the pattern, as well as the super-soft and pretty yarn. They are probably slightly too big, but they’re certainly wearable, and I love looking at them.
