If cyanotypes are my favorite artistic medium, then printing on wood is my second favorite. I just really enjoy the dichotomy between the photography and the grains in the wood. It makes the negative space something else entirely than if I printed on paper.

The process instantly makes photos more elegant and aged, I also love the tonal qualities.

Polish Paper Cut Out Card, May 2015

Here is another greeting card I’ll be selling online, it isn’t quite yet done, but I am working on it!

Wycinanki are a huge part of Polish culture, they are the practice of cutting out symmetrical pieces of colored paper and creating intricate patterns.

I modernized this beautiful practice by making a symmetrical, colorful design in Photoshop.

B&K Crafts Logo, April 2015

This weekend, my business partner and I have a meeting about our joint business venture. It mainly involved eating and coloring, let’s be honest. We worked on making thank you cards for those who donated to our gofundme campaign as well as launched our facebook page and Instagram.

This design is our official logo, we chose a orchid type that is native to California to symbolize how both our work is beautiful, nature-inspired, and that we are local artists. It is called the Calypso Orchid.

While designing the logo might have been the easiest part, when your business partner is your best friend even the hard stuff seems manageable.
