Are you fucking kidding me?
Yes ma’am. You most definitely will.
Please don't call me ma'am again.
Natasha will do fine.

Are you fucking kidding me?
Sounds like a fair deal. I’m a hard worker.
Well I guess I will figure that out myself if you decide to take my class then.
Are you fucking kidding me?
What class is it that you teach?
Acting for Screen...but I will take other related classes when needed.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Oh, dear… uh. Well. I really hope the elevator starts again soon, then…
As do I. I send students away when they come in late...it would be very hypocritical for me to turn up late myself.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Well, not for another two hours, I don’t. Do you?
Yes, I do actually.
I am meant to be taking a class in ten minutes.
Are you fucking kidding me?
I don’t know, but it would be nice to take your class just in case.
Don't if you think it is going to be one of those classes you can get away with doing nothing in and still pass. If you don't take it seriously you don't make it to the end of the semester.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Well, no, that would be an odd thing to put on a to-do list…
You've not got anywhere better to be right now?
Are you fucking kidding me?
So um… You teach here right? I was thinking about taking your class next semester.
You want to act in films or on TV?
Are you fucking kidding me?
I- Yeah. No.. That pretty much sums it all up.
Are you fucking kidding me?
You aren’t uh, claustrophobic or anything, right? Just… annoyed?
Not claustrophobic, no. Annoyed, yes.
I didn't put 'getting stuck in an elevator' on my to-do list this morning.
Are you fucking kidding me?
… So this isn’t ideal.
No. No it's not. You'd think by 2013 they would have made elevators that didn't fuck up quite so often.
Are you fucking kidding me?
I-I’m sure it’ll start up again soon?
It better. I have places to be and I don't plan on spending any more than five minutes max trapped in this goddamn elevator.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Of course not.
...What would you say?
That’s lovely advice, but I don’t want to own awkward. I don’t want to come across as awkward. I dress the way I dress and present myself the way I do for a reason. I want to own classy and timeless, and I do, until I step onto a stage.
The work at it. If a student comes to you with a brilliant talent but horrible stage presence, would you tell them to give up and become a teacher?
I enjoy teaching. I enjoy letting my students use the songs that I wrote, but yes, I do enjoy performing.
Then fuck those people.
Not everyone who is a success on stage is comfortable and confident, they fake it until they learn how to become that way. If you have talent and you have passion then don't just give up because you look awkward. Own awkward. Make awkward your thing, hey it's worked for loads of other people. Even if you're performing in front of ten people in a shitty bar downtown. But don't stop performing until you stop enjoying it.
It’s not performing. Like I said, I learned a lot about myself in college. As for why I’m not on stage myself, it’s because I’m not comfortable with it. I come across as awkward and uncomfortable, and everyone says it.
So you're giving up because some people told you that your stage presence isn't up to scratch?
Ignoring everyone else...do you enjoy performing?
