This is a delightful video. It's 4 hours long, you can listen to it as a podcast, but you will get called out on it. She reads you the stories set in 1904, about girls growing up and facing various struggles throughout their childhood. She also pauses to explain all of the socioeconomic tensions of the era and how the main characters deal with them! The stories have all-female characters, the rare time a male character appears he is immediately told off and kicked off the page. She tackles issues of: misogyny, racism, oppression of the irish, rich privilege, child labour, industrialism, classism, bullying, poverty, orphan syndrome, and she explains all of them in a delightful way! There's lore about Alice Rosevelt. I had a great time listening to her reading and explaining these stories and I hope someone else could get their day brightened by this.
