On the early evening of August 31, 2018 my husband and I were on our way home from grocery shopping when we were struck by a truck. We were exiting the 215 north at the Ramona Expressway exit in Perris, California, upon entering the right turn lane the light turned red and the semi truck in front of us stopped, we came to stop behind the semi truck to await the light turning green or an opportunity to use a free right turn, however within seconds of coming to a complete stop my car was hit from behind, at high speed(75mph+). My husband and I were flung forward, the vehicle that hit us had forced my car into the rear of the semi causing an accordian or sandwich effect on my tiny car. Luckily my husband and myself survived with some bruising and aches and pain, but no life threatening injuries. However my little car did not survive, the entire front end was under the semi destroying the engine and all other power train parts. As for the back of the car the trunk was smashed in! Needless to say the car is a complete loss!! My car had been a gift from a kind neighbor upon their decision to move and no longer needing the car. After receiving the car we found it needed several repairs and so over the last 6 months we had put alot of time and money into repairs, including a new transmission costing $2500 that was installed less than 3 months ago! My car was not new, it was not expensive, nor flashy, but it was mine and I loved it!! Now comes the hard part...I am currently working on going back to school to get my high school diploma and make a better life for my family. I have been working on my diploma for a year and like most high schools we had been out for our summer vacation and I am due to return to my classes on Tuesday September 4th, but I will not be able to attend until I can purchase a new vehicle. I am pursuing a reimbursement from him and his insurance but we all know how that can go and the reality of what they pay vs. What a new car will cost plus when getting another car you need to be concerned with any repairs that car may need too. So here it is I'm asking for the help of my family, friends, and those https://www.gofundme.com/new-car-for-natasha (at Perris, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnN1JgGlUTt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hgdypi5cwnw7
