                      one small brow rises in surprise as he sits and madi leans back a little, creating more space between them. the way he jokes about her age and the upcoming years gives away that he is no threat to her and madi can’t help but smirk a little. “or maybe i’ll beat you. never underestimate anyone, just because they are small. i might surprise you.” she gives him a little shrug, before folding her hands in her lap. “why have you come here? to mock me?”

his hand in hers felt like she had always imagined it. calloused skin wrapping around her much smaller fingers and radiating comfort into her bones. this wasn’t how she had HOPED they would meet, but they couldn’t have come at a better time. Making sure to navigate around all the traps Clarke and her had built in the area, she led the group to a small cave that was hidden behind ivy. Inside the found the old oil lamp they used and lit it, before turning towards the others. It had to be strange for them, knowing they had never met her, while to Madi they were already FRIENDS. With only her and Clarke left on earth, the stories about them had given her something to hold onto, people to believe in and a future painted out of not being so ALONE. “I’m Madi…I don’t remember if I said that already… Are you hurt?”

       It doesn’t feel real, but the words from the kid’s mouth had been Clarke’s name. They said it on the ring a lot — a reminder of who they lost to get into space. But never like this. He never thought she’d be anything other than past tense. He follows the girl, the familiar sense of suspicion not present when she leads him to her cave. They can trust her. She’s just a child and she already knew them.

      Madi. ❛ No, we’re not hurt. ❜ Bellamy speaks for them all, his voice hoarse with the shock of hearing his old friend is alive. ❛ Clarke — you know her? She’s alive? ❜ He needs her to say it again.

The way to her cave isn’t long, but she has to carefully lead them around her traps, which she can even locate in the darkness of the forest. She has built and set every single one of them - some with Clarke, some without her - and knows exactly where they are. Now they give her a sense of safety in a very uncertain situation for her, since she has never been separated from Clarke before and fears for the life of the other. When Bellamy speaks up, Madi turns to look at him and nods. “Of course I know her, why else would I talk about her?” She moves a few branches away that cover the opening of the cave and slips inside. “The bad people caught her. They came here on a ship and took our home away. They chased us and tried to kill us, but Clarke told me to hide, so they didn’t find me, but they found her. I don’t know who they are, but they have gun s and they shoot before they ask questions. Can you help me get Clarke back, please?”
