“You’re being ridiculous,” Noel nudged his arm playfully. “But I’m glad you’re coming.” He smiled, “it was about damn time,” he laughed.

“i’m just messing with you. i’m totally excited for you, and i’ll be there,” he chuckled. “hey, easy there mr. married man, or you’re gonna hurt my feelings,” he laughed softly. “so, after the wedding, have you got a honeymoon planned?”

Judah nodded as he listened to Nate, then laughed when Nate said that he couldn’t really do much short of giving him a physical. Not that Judah wouldn’t mind indulging in a kinky little nurse and patient roleplay with Nate, but he would be absolutely mortified to admit that. Those dimples were too much. He had to look away, still smiling, although the tips of his ears flushed with warmth. “Hmm… Well, I really do hope you feel better soon. Drink lots of hot tea. I recommend some chamomile or green tea. Chamomile is my favorite, though, with a little dash of honey in it.” Judah walked back to the counter, glancing at the computer to see if any online orders were put in, but seeing none, he walked back and smiled at Nate again. “Maybe you just need to go for a walk around the block to get some fresh air? Natalie should come in in a few minutes. We could go get some tea at Mocha, if you want?”

"chamomile tea; i’ll keep that in mind,” he said with a soft smile. “yeah, sure, i’d love to. we could also go back to mine if you want? i’ve got tea, cookies too. we could put in a movie or something, my roommate isn’t home.” not that having the apartment to themselves should be any kind of selling point to judah, but.

he waited for natalie to come in to the flower shop so he and judah could leave, and they stepped outside once the blonde had finished up and grabbed all his things. “okay, so, definitely on the mood for that walk, and then we’ll just see where that takes us.”

anastasiaaporter‌:

anastasia was waiting by the pick up counter at mocha, needing her dirty chai a little more than usual.  she watched as a very nervous looking barista frantically moved between drinks, blending this and pouring that.  she tried to pick out which drink was hers, but eventually gave up and resorted to scrolling through her twitter feed.  her ears perked up at the mention of her name, but she was confused when he read out a chocolate chip mocha frap double whipped, which was definitely not what she’d ordered.  she wasn’t in too much of a rush, and didn’t want to make the man feel any more defeated then he seemed to be.  “i can’t believe that’s a real drink!  unfortunately it isn’t mine, though.”  anastasia smiled sympathetically.  “no, no, don’t quit!  they need you now more than ever!  i’ve heard that chai lattes are some of the easiest drinks to make, all you need is a shot of espresso and i’ll be good to go.”  she tried giving her best classic american football movie pep talk to lift his spirits, but wasn’t sure if it had worked.  

the line of customers was piling up, and it was still about 10 minutes before the other barista would come in for his shift and nate could clock out. and ten minutes felt like an eternity. he hid his face into his hands. “fine. i’ll make you yours, because you’re nice, so i won’t leave you without your coffee. then i’ll leave,” he went back over the other side of the counter. taking his sweet timee with anastasia’s coffee, just waiting for the damn end of shift. he took two more orders, and fulfilled them before clocking out. “sorry about my little breakdown. people are just... the absolute worst.”

Simon examined the box a little more closely at the suggestion. That seemed like a wise idea. “Well it says here that this is supposed to make 12 servings so you think you can eat 12 servings of cake in two days?” Simon asked him with a laugh. That seemed like a lot but then again it’d been a while since he made one. “I mean halfing it seems like a good idea except for then I’d need one and a half eggs and I don’t know how to get a half of an egg,” he said setting the box down. The impulse buy was looking less appealing now. “I should probably just go for a slice of premade or something. Save myself all the hassle of making it and then I don’t have to find anyone to share with.” He didn’t have anyone he’d share a dessert with in his life right now. 

“i... definitely could,” he chuckled. “it’s doable if you eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. not that anyone should, but it’s possible,” he said. “you’ve just got a smartass reply for every suggestion i’ve got for you, huh?” he teased with a chuckle when the man said he didn’t know how to half an egg. “i mean, if you want, we can go halfsies on ingredients and split the cake. i do have a roommate to share my half with, so, you know. if you want, if you’re still feeling very zumbo’s just desserts,” he suggested. if not that, then nate was out of ideas, to be honest.

dylan was just amused by the whole situation, he had never thought he would have this type of encounter while doing laundry. “mmhm a little bit of both, i have to admit.” he chuckled wanting the other man to relax because he could see the clear embarrassment on his cheeks. he laughed at his joke and nodded. “hey, lucky me. maybe i just won the lottery” he laughed. “i’m dylan, nice to meet you in this…peculiar situation.” he laughed.

nate smiled. “i do appreciate that,” he said with a soft chuckle. dylan was trying to make him feel better, which he appreciated because he was honestly mortified about putting the man through the trouble of having to wait for a stranger to dig through their laundry in order to find two weeks worth of clean underwear. “you might have. clearly i’m amusing, at the very least,” he laughed softly. “i’m nate. ceo of great first impressions.”

Noel chuckled at the other’s comment, it was definitely true. “Yeah. You’ll come, right?” he asked. “Husband number six… look at you.” He grinned. “I’m sure she’ll lock you up in her apartment to make sure you don’t escape her claws,” he laughed.

"of course. wouldn’t miss it,” he smiled. “it makes wallowing in self pity so much easier, thinking about how everyone but you’s all cuffed up,” he joked. that’s what weddings were to most single people, right? but nate still loved them. “i know. little nate matthews, movin’ up in the world,” he laughed.

“ oh, i know the one ! i didn’t actually see it, but i saw the trailer. you’re right though — he does look like him. ” marnie nodded, glancing over at the stranger for a moment. he did look like chris evans — hopefully that other girl had good enough taste to appreciate him. “ i know, i know ! look at me, settling back down like a grown up. ” she laughed, brushing her hair off her shoulder for dramatic flair. “ so, dylan & i were kinda just seeing how things went, ya know ? well, i cooked him dinner & dressed up all nice & i guess i must have some magical cooking skills because he asked me to be his girlfriend. ”

“if you’re down to have a little movie date, we can go back to mine and watch it. over dinner or something?” he suggested. “truly proud of you, marns,” he replied with a soft laugh. “well... i might need you to pass that recipe along. i’m so devastatingly single, i’m a few sane moments away from kissing the tender crook of my elbow just to feel something,” he joked. “but great for you and dylan! can’t wait for all the couplegram posts on ig. you two must look so cute. and he’d better be good to you.”

stuffing a spoonful of cereal into his mouth, axel shook his head and laughed when the man spoke out of his window, and well, axel leaned out a bit to say, “well, i mean yeah. i’m not a peeper by the way, i was just amazed you knew the entire choreography to fuckin’ high school musical.” axel said and laughed as he set his bowl of cereal down. he wasn’t going to complain if the man’s towel had dropped that was for sure. “though if you’re gonna do that more, maybe leave the blinds down. it’s distracting!” 

"i mean... you kinda are.” sure, he had given quite the show through an open window, but the guy didn’t have to stay and watch. not that he blamed him or anything, though. “oh, sorry, have i interrupted your day?!” nate laughed. “you could’ve just walked away.”

Lyric was walking along, on her way to open the bakery early one morning. She was going over her newest recipe in her head when she heard someone yell and as she looked up her eyes went wide as she saw the person barrelling towards her on a bike. She moved to get out of the way, adrenaline pumping through her veins. She ran over to the man, eyebrows raised. “Uh, no that’s not always the case, you can have broken ribs and not know it. You really shouldn’t try to stand up, you could have a serious injury, and that could make it worse.” Lyric says as she moves to check on him.  She pushes some of the trash bags to get closer to him. “I’m gonna call 911, you need to be checked out.” 

“ah, i’m sorry,” he apologized. even though he didn’t hit her, he was mortified. he must have scared the crap out of her. “my brakes just gave out,” he said. he tried to steady his breathing to calm himself down, because he felt pretty panicked at the moment. “i really hope nothing’s broken.” you know those moments where you’re going through something, and you wished you had your mom there to baby you and tell you you’re gonna be okay? yeah, this was one of those, and he hadn’t had one in a while. “thank you, i appreciate that.”

dylan couldn’t help but laugh at the little accident that had happened with him and the other guy. “don’t worry about, happens to anyone. you shouldn’t be embarrassed.” he assured him even though if it was him, he would feel embarrassed too..  he raised an eyebrow when he saw the jockstrap and laughed quietly. “you don’t have to pay me back for anything, it’s all good.” he smiled and looked down at the pile of clothes, gently picking out another item. “i think this might be yours too, i don’t have any of these.” he smiled.

“does it, though, or are you just trying to make me feel better? because i’ve never seen this happen to anyone,” he chuckled. there was still a pink tint to his cheeks as he spoke. this guy was clearly amused, and nate could hear his own imaginary clown shoes squeaking. at least he had a cute smile—made him feel a little better about the man laughing at his expense. “right,” he said when he assured him he didn’t have to worry about it. “i usually let people at least tell me their name before they get to see my underwear, but you might just be special.” as soon as he said it, he could hear his internal voice shouting at him to shut up. he blushed. again. “thanks.” at least he had the common sense not to jokingly suggest they exchange underwear as a keepsake. he’d clowned himself bad enough already.

“Definitely! But before we do the whole “reception” at Mocha. apparently, that’s happening,” he laughed. “Everyone felt left out so that’s what we’re doing,” he shrugged his shoulders with a smile. “Thanks, mate. I’m really happy.” And he was, the happiest he’s been in a long time. “That’s a great idea,” Noel laughed, “go present yourself at her door, knock on it and as soon as she opens it, you pop the question. One knee and a ring and all,” he grinned, “she’ll love it.”

“yeah, i guess that tends to happen when you elope. people feel like they missed out,” he said. “but that’s so great, though! i mean, you’re already legally married, you might as well celebrate that,” he smiled. “i think i just might do that. make myself mr. nate orzechowski—unless she takes my last name. that’ll make me husband number... six, i think?” he chuckled.

marnie raised an eyebrow at nate’s words, mid-way through stuffing her face with a blueberry muffin. “ what — i have no idea what movie you’re talking about, but chris evans is hot in anything. ” she chuckled, though she had no interest in the stranger. “ well, he would’ve been sorely disappointed anyway, because i would’ve politely rejected him. i’m a taken woman now. ” she shrugged, a wide smile tugging a her lips. “ so i guess it’s his loss. ”

“i don’t know. he wore a cable knit sweater and it was all people talked about. it’s called knives out or something, i don’t know,” he said. but he definitely had to agree that chris evans is hot. his tween self had had a shirtless poster of him on his wall, that he’d excused with oh, i just really like the human torch. “oh, she’s taken now! go off!” he laughed. it seemed like everyone around him was getting cuffed lately. “guess so,” he shrugged. “so. do you wanna spill about that now, or are you gonna leave me to have to find all the details myself?”

“yeah, you want a piece of this?” he pointed at his body with his index finger, wiggling an eyebrow before he started laughing. “no, no, we’ll watch your little horror thing and then i’ll chose one myself. you’re not getting rid of me that easily.” he served some lasagna on a plate and handed it to nate then did the same for himself, quickly stabbing his fork on it to take a bite as the movie started.

“eeeeeasy tiger,” nate chuckled. but, like, maybe. if he was offering. he didn’t mean to stare at him, but he kinda couldn’t help but follow that finger. “right. um. movie,” he said, turning back to the tv. he thanked him for serving him a plate, and he started eating as well as the movie started. he was humming to the opening tune, sitting crosslegged on the couch and focusing his attention on the film rather than the company. he loved this movie, but he might’ve been a little biased, as he’d played the lead in a high school production of the show. he always felt like that had been his peak. “do i get snuggle privileges for providing dinner? or does it not apply because all i did was push a button in the microwave?”

it was an early morning for axel, he’d been up since seven that morning, unable to sleep really. he was in the middle of breakfast and walked over to his window to open it, just to let in a nice little breeze when he saw the man across the street dancing. and he fucking knew that dance, so obviously instead of like a normal and polite person who would just walk away and let the guy enjoy his little concert, axel stood there with his bowl of cereal in hand and watched. he was cracking up as the man caught on and noticed him from across the way, well this was certainly a good way to start the day, wasn’t it?

seriously, how long had this guy been there? now they had made awkward eye contact, and he was... still there. you know when someone catches you staring at them, so you awkwardly turn away so they don’t notice? yeah, not this guy, apparently. “hey, at least i didn’t drop my towel, right?” he said through his open window. he could try and act chill, but he was freaking out on the inside and feeling like an absolute dumbass.

“Hey, Nate!” Judah peeked his head up from the mountain of roses he was trimming. The blond would be lying if he said he wasn’t a complete sucker for dimples and bright eyes, and every time Nate smiled, he felt a little flutter. “Not the hydrangeas! We’re safe girls!” he said, glancing at the hydrangeas on the other side of the room with a soft chuckle. “Hmm… This building is pretty old, and we all kinda share a ventilation system. It could be dust? I’d try switching your air filter. Or it could just be seasonal. You don’t have any pets, do you?” he asked, setting his shears down and going to wash his hands. “What can I do you for today?” he asked, drying his hands and coming out from behind the counter.

"not the hydrangeas!” he said and gave one a little air kiss. he walked over closer to judah. “yeah, i’ll try to switch out the air filter and see if it helps some. it’s just—not to be a conspiracy theorist, but it started the day of the restock.” though, to be fair, it might all just be a big, dumb coincidence. “no pets, no history of allergies, but i do suppose it could be dust or something,” nate shrugged. “well, short of giving me a physical, i don’t know what you could do for me.” he’d lost his insurance when he dropped out of school, so he didn’t feel like the doctor’s wasn’t much of a choice. not that he expected the florist to be a better option.

archer flashed a big, bright grin at nate, absolutely pleased with the response. “that’s my boy! there’s nothing wrong with being wholesome, tasty and easy like a frozen lasagna. you should try it, you’d have a great time.” he winked, his attention going back to his phone for a moment while he waited for the food to be done. “that looks awesome, thanks for spending the entire afternoon prepping this for me.” he leaned to the side and pressed a kiss on nate’s cheek as the other sat by his side. “listen, my only knowledge on musicals consists on pitch perfect. maybe the reputation tour if it counts as a movie, but that’s it. i know you have good taste sometimes, i’m hoping it’ll be good enough.”

nate just chuckled. archer was absolutely ridiculous, but he loved that. “are you saying you’re wholesome and tasty and easy?” he asked. “you’re welcome. i would’ve put on my little apron and 50′s housewife dress, but ugh, it’s at the cleaner’s.” he joked. he sat close to him, getting comfortable in his seat. “hmm, i don’t know if i’d count that. oh, this is too much pressure. i should’ve let you pick. i don’t think little shop of horrors will be your kinda tune.”

“pffft, i like quick and easy,” he arched an eyebrow teasingly, hoping to get a reaction out of nate. “besides, who are you taking me for? i’m not above any frozen meals, they’re convenient as fuck, mine is full of pizza and it’s motherfucking heaven. it’ll even give you more time to come sit your pretty ass down next to me so we can start this weird movie you picked.” he patted the spot next to him on the couch as he took a sip from his drink. 

“me too,” he smirked. “that’s why i invited you over,” he teased with a chuckle. not everything went over nate’s head, and archer had kind of set up that line perfectly for him. “they’re kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. there’s also the fact that i can get really lazy sometimes. microwaveable pizza just hits different.” he put the lasagna in the oven, grateful that we wouldn’t have to be doing any actual cooking. “it’s not weird! it’s just a musical,” he rolled his eyes. their food was ready pretty quick, and nate brought over to the couch the tray along with two plates. as the movie started, nate looked at archer, narrowing his eyes. “you’re not gonna let me pick the movie, then bitch the whole time about it, right?”
