Modifying a Tumblr page with custom script found online allowed a free and permanent address to host the archive online, a strategy consistent with the DIY, no-budget aesthetic of the studio.  Website and photography by me.

Virtual Companion: Sonya

Sonya is a loneliness-alleviating hack for animating idle living spaces.  She leverages simple and accessible open-source and freeware technologies to address an observed shortage of emotional resources available to an increasingly disaffected culture.

A 3D capture of Sonya is projected on the pyramid, creating a convincing false impression of a friend or lover (actually 4x 2D images).  The effect is limited by its simplicity, yet manages to break the inherent barrier of Augmented Reality by placing the character IRL.

The user is able to indulge in an increasingly powerful urge to lean into the future and recede from humanity with a reliable, virtual experience.
