in awae, anne is 13 in S1, and shirbert happens when she's 16.

but in aogg canon, anne comes to avonlea at 11. gilbert doesn't get his girl until after she turns 20, at redmond. and even then, they don't marry until after his medicine course.

which can only mean that OG!gilbert blythe is made to pine and yearn for at least twice as long as awae!gilbert. (plus, may i point out that he is also tormented by roy gardner?)

and we thought 3 seasons of awae was slow burn... this man deserved every second of the decades of happy marriage he had with his anne-girl
