I'm sure you've seen Real Injun on Netflix, but if not, watch it, it's great!!

Yes I've seen it, it's a great documentary on the depiction of Native Americans in Hollywood films. I recommend it to everyone who is interested on the subject. Hell, I recommend it to everyone, period. So, people of Tumblr, go watch Reel Injun. Now!

You have rick mora on your site. He has no proof, no tribal ID, etc. He is not native from the U.S.

It says on his website that he is. Well, anyway.. this Tumblr is just a hobby of mine (I didn't even except to get any followers), and I am no expert in any way of who is native american and who isn't. I have no infermation about anyone's tribal ID's. All the source I have is the internet and I try my best to see the difference between true and false information. Of course I may fail sometimes. So, what I'm trying to say here is, that though the name of this blog is Native American Actors, I am not claiming that all the actors I post are 100% sure to be of native american ancestry.

Mr. Means cut off his braids a few months before receiving his cancer diagnosis. It was, he said in an interview last October, a gesture of mourning for his people. In Lakota lore, he explained, the hair holds memories, and mourners often cut it to release those memories, and the people in them, to the spirit world.

As my friend Fritz emailed me yesterday from Innsbruck: Means cut his braids and died … for sure he was a good man.
